Dr. Jeffrey Gitt, DO

In 2011 I went to Dr. Gitt with symptoms of a major relapse. The entire left side of my body was numb and I couldn’t write. He told me I was having anxiety. I got a second opinion and that MS specialist did an MRI which showed a relapse. Suffice it to say I switched to that doctor and she ordered iv steroids.

I was referred to Dr. Gitt by my internist. He seemed to be in a bad mood when he entered the room. I completed his lengthy pre-visit paperwork, arrived on time to my appointment; I had done nothing wrong to deserve his nasty, curt behavior. He made a couple odd comments to me during the neuro exam which really upset me and quite honestly kept me from seeking the advice of other doctors for several months.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gitt for at least 10 years. Each time I have an appointment, I have been greeted as a patient AND a friend. I had my latest appointment on 20 January 2022. During the visit, I related a new issue that had cropped up earlier in the month. He asked specific questions, and showed he heard me, and spoke to me not at me. His demeanor and knowledge are beyond reproach. I would highly recommend Dr. Gitt for anyone who is in need of a neurologist. Oh, by the way, the staff at the office are great too!

I have been treated by Dr. Gitt for Cervical Dystonia. He has always shut me down when trying to tell him about my pain and symptoms, never allowing me to express my concerns. Yesterday, was the final straw. I had my appointment for my injections and Dr. Gitt walked into the room, closed the door and took off his mask. He forcefully told me I needed to take off my mask because as he said, he has already had Covid and therefore he is immune. I said, “What about me?” He said “You can’t get Covid from me because I am immune.” I wasn’t comfortable but took off my mask because I was in so much pain and I felt very intimidated knowing this doctor was about to insert needles in my neck. I have Diverticulitis, high blood pressure and major neck and back pain. I am at risk for getting Covid and my mother in law just passed due to Covid. I won’t be treating with Dr. Gitt any longer. I don’t recommend him at all. He also stated that he won’t be getting the Covid vaccine.

He’s condescending and rude. He acts like you’re annoying and also an idiot. But this seems to be the attitude of most neurologists so I would say his bed side manner is par for the course in his specialty. He was slightly less rude than one of the other doctors at his practice.

I wish I could leave negative stars because he deserves nothing positive. This guy should not be practicing medicine. Myself and my sister both have MS and unbeknownst to us we had both seen him. He has absolutely no compassion for humanity. I wouldn’t let him touch my neighbors Dog. I had a brain aneurysm that burst which left me with residual ice pic headaches. He told me “don’t eat chocolate and no caffeine” as he was leaving the exam room. I would strongly encourage people to do your homework on this guy and you’ll see for yourself that it’s not just me that thinks he’s a complete jerk .

ME PERSONALLY, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN DISMISSED ALOT WHEN I TRY TO TELL HIM THAT MY MIGRAINES ARE NOT GETTING BETTER AND THE TREATMENT HE IS DOING ISNT HELPING. I HAVEE ASKED SEVERAL TIMES FOR HIM TO DO AN MRI TO SEE IF IT MIGHT HELP SEE WHAT IS GOING ON BUT HE REFUSED I HAVE NOW HAD A MIGRAINE FOR OVER 2 MONTHS AND NOW HE WANTS TO DO SOMETHING. WHY DID I HAVE TO GO THIS LONG.

Dr. Gitt is very professional. He thoroughly reviews my chart, asks specific questions about any changes since my last visit and listens to my answers while looking me in the eye. This doctor really cares about his patients. He is a MS specialist and has helped me immensely.

Dr Gitt is an amazing Dr. He is very direct and won't waste your time. He advocated for me when an ER Dr gave me poor care and told me I was faking my seizures. He is definitely a great Dr who cares about his patients

I have thoroughly enjoyed having Dr Gitt as my doctor! He’s helped me out a lot and I cannot see nothing but great things about him !!

I have been seeing Dr Gitt for over 10 years. I appreciate his vast knowledge of treatment options and I always trust his recommendations. Under his care I have been able to manage my disease with great success and comfort.

If I could rate office staff friendliness and wait time for an appointment any lower than 1 I certainly would. I am an established patient of Dr. Gitt, have been seeing him for > 6 years for my MS, but I was treated so incredibly rude by office staff during an acute flare up of my condition. I was placed on hold > 15 mins each time I called, was told 2 months out was quickest Dr. Gitt could see me for ACUTE problem, and my phone calls/messages were never returned by the MA all 3 times I called.

I have never written a negative review about someone so the fact that I am doing so now reflects how concerned I am that Dr. Gitt has peoples lives in his hands. He was extremely condescending toward me and was actually annoyed when I started to cry in his office because of the pain I was in. He angrily threw my images up on the screen and then told me there was nothing he could do for me without even giving an explanation. His agitation got worse when I tried to ask questions. No compassion!

After going to Dr. Gitt for over 10-years, I have had issues good and bad with him. NOW, I will not go back. He does BOTOX injections for my MS every 3 months. While at my last BOTOX injection visit, I told him I needed to talk to him about my MS and issues I was having. He would not let me! He wanted a separate appointment for that. Seven days later, I was in the hospital with a relapse and now have lisp and loss of use of the left side of my mouth. I slobber and can't eat right.

I saw Dr. Gitt regarding migraines. I'm a long-time sufferer and know my history very well--and what does not work for me. I was looking for some new strategies besides heavy medication, which I have been on for years and want to avoid because of all the side effects. But I was very frustrated because he just wanted to push more medication, and was dismissive of my thoughts or opinions about the direction I wan to go in. He just talked over me. I need a doc who cares about me. He's not it.

Horrible. Dr. Gitt was only interested in addressing the headache issue; none of the other neurological issues my other physician referred me for. My first visit he held up his hand to me to stop talking like I wasn't supposed to be speaking , really? I thought you worked for me? Since they were not migraine headaches and he couldn't give me Botox injections, he pushed me aside and referred me on to another physician. A complete waste of time and resources.

Dr. Gitt is always, always, always on time! I like that. He comes to the door to call the patient himself. He is all business, and has almost a military presence, but he is sincere and an excellent doctor. He conducted a procedure on me that everyone said would be painful--but I felt no pain. He is amazing. He also listens. I am quite pleased with Dr. Gitt's treatment and care.

As a stroke survivor I have seen my fair share of neurologists. All before were less than good experiences. I recently saw Dr. Gitt for ET's & I am 1000% grateful I came to him. An exceptional experience each visit. I highly recommend this practice and staff. Professional, thorough & genuine. I told my family, in any neurological event, he is who I want to see. Period.
