His error caused damage, pain & additional surgery
Dr Ma performed cataract surgery that immediately had problems. Many weekly visitshe refused to admit the issue as did Dr Li at UCDavis. Dr Park, a Retina specialist immediately noticed the error. The new lens was pulling at my iris & the eye could not dilate. Still Drs Ma & Li refused to admit a problem. Meanwhile, I was unable to drive with bright sun with sunglasses & in headlights at night, & painful light sensitivity. After many useless $$UCDavis visits, I went to UCSF. An ultrasound (which UCDavis never did) & 2 UCSF doctors instantly saw the lens WAS pulling & caused irreparable damage that only sewing it in place would relieve the dilation problem. Had Dr Ma & Dr Li admitted there was a problem & a solution, the eye wouldn’t have been damaged and the second surgery would have been unnecessary. It is improbable that 2 UCDavis Cornea experts couldn’t see what a UCDavis Retina specialist & 2 UCSF opthomologists saw instantly.
