Convergence Insufficiency - not diagnosed
I brought my daughter to Dr. Perlman in 2021 to assess her after a former diagnosis of Convergence Insufficiency at 6 years old for which she received Vision Therapy. She was having difficulty with timed Reading tests and experiencing frequent headaches. His assessment was that she showed NO signs of CI. Two years later, she has been assessed by a psychologist and a developmental ophthalmologist and diagnosed with CI and weaknesses in visual processing, visual reasoning, and visual-spatial. She completely stopped using her left eye since both eyes were not working together. How did he not pick up on this? I was told he specialized in CI. I am appalled at this negligence and sad that my daughter could have gotten help for this two years ago had he properly diagnosed her. If this is your child’s issue, please take him/her to Dr. Christina Murray, who actually does specialize in this.

Excellent Dr
I have been trying to find a dr in the area that specializes in strabismus surgery on adults. I finally found Dr Jeffery Perlman. Although he doesn’t take my insurance. It was definitely worth it to have him do my surgery which was on 6/8/22. The surgery center was on my plan so that was a good thing! Anyway Dr Perlman took the time to do my eye measurements prior to surgery. His assistant Tawny is friendly as well! Surgery went well and although he did over correct just a little he was able to adjust the sutures ( while awake but had numbing eye drops ) just the right way during the third adjustment! I still am seeing him for post op! He is happy with the results and so am I. I highly recommend Dr Jeffery Perlman! Beats having to drive all the way to Miami to Bascom Palmer

This was a big disappointment. At that time I was having symptoms that were quite worrisome, and therefore this was an urgent matter for me. The doctor finally showed up at the very end of the appointment, and spent probably 3 minutes in the room with me. This was when I voiced all my concerns and was hoping for some valuable doctor-patient rapport. Dr. Perlman did not exhibit any pretense at medical objectivity, concern or even mere attention. I was told that I had absolutely nothing wrong with me, and the pain in the eye is more like a figment of imagination. I was dismissed within a minute. A couple of weeks later the Dr’s office sent me a letter with the diagnosis, reciting some diseases and stating that, among other things, my “...condition was discussed with me and a cataract surgery will be required...”. That was an egregious lie. Then I called the office and spoke with a Dr’s assistant who sounded quite prostrate and confused, and could not definitely confirm a single thing.

Terrible! Had an appointment at 3:00 and was told it would be at least 90 minutes before we would even see the doctor. How is that remotely acceptable for a 5 year old. Doctor assistant is awful and just aloof to everything. Would never recommend this office to anyone who I valued their time.

I am very pleased with my experience at Dr. Perlman's office. I had an emergency and was welcomed in the office as a new patient immediately. It was an extremely scary incident but they were able to run all the tests to find the diagnosis that same day and schedule my surgery. I don't know what I'd do if they weren't so helpful.

My daughter had an appointment. We waited 45 min. in the lobby and were told that it would be at least another 1/2 hr. Her Dr. had already faxed his notes, but the office staff lost them. The office was extremely disorganized. If you have children be prepared to take them out of school for the day. If you work for a living, they do not care if you miss the rest of the day. I will never return to this office. It is sad Dr. Perlman is a good Dr., He should go to another practice.
