I've just (2 weeks ago) had my knee replaced. I have had VERY LITTLE pain...less than 1 on a scale of 1 to 10...and I am cleared to do all activities except run and jump! My balance is great, my flexibilty is almost perfect. I can stand on my new knee with my other foot raise and NOT have to hold onto anything of balance. I go up and down stairs one foot per tread...I FEEL GREAT. Dr. Person's is THE BEST joint surgeon in my universe. I'd rate him FIVE PLUS stars if I could. He demands perfection from his staff and gets it.

Had hip replacement 05/21/19. Dr. Persons did excellent job! He always listened to my concerns. Kept a close check on me ((probably because I’m a old lady) has good bedside manner. Spoke in clear medical terms that we knew what the next approach would be. Arranged therapy. His PA,Jay was also wonderful. I was very happy for choosing Dr. Persons for my procedure.

Dr. Persons was the initial surgeon for my mother after she had a very bad fall in August of 2016. He ended up placing a brace inside her leg and fast forward to present time, not only did he allow this device to remain in her leg for over a year, but anytime she inquired about it and the infections she kept getting, he was not only vague and unconcerned but rude. His bedside manners are disgusting and condescending and I truly wish she had never ANY experience with this person.

I'm a nurse just for starters...but most of all a human and a child of God. I was a patient of Dr. Persons and his P.A.(Jay)for several months after a fall in May 2016 during an exercise @home that ended up with two broken bones(deformity but not compound so thankful for Gods grace in that not pierced skin). I came away on several occasions from office visits feeling sad, confused & disappointed that both disagreed with hand therapist treatments with taping my fingers...so why send me to him?

Dr. Persons is a damn fine surgeon. You'd be lucky to have him fix you up after an critical incident. That is very important. Now, to his office. Plan on waiting a MINIMUM of 90 minutes past your appt. time and many times well over 2 hours to be seen. It's worse when you are on your one week follow-up all drugged up and in pain to sit in the waiting room for 3 hours! Plus, it is very crowded in there. Everyone miserable from their injuries and wait time. Add to that CNN blaring!!

Dr. Persons was "on call" when I went to the ER at 9 am on Saturday with a swollen knee that needed draining. He was consulted & I was told to call him Mon for an appt. When I called the earliest appt was Wed afternoon. The ER wouldn't drain it because the Phys Asst said it was "too germy in the hospital to risk an injection". Conclusion: OBICI is too GERMY & PERSONS is NOT compassionate & TOO BUSY to be bothered on a Sat, therefore, I DO NOT recommend either.

Dr. Persons is a wonderful surgeon, I credit him with saving my finger in surgery. He has a great sense of humor and explains everything in detail of procedure and what to expect. His Physician's assistant, Jay is great, the whole staff beyond any and all of my expectations, both friendly and most professional. I highly recommend. The entire experience, the injury he had to fix, was the only downside, but thank God he was that good.

The staff seemed friendly and courteous, But Dr. Persons is in my opinion the worst doctor to talk to. He seems like he is not even listening to you when your telling him what is wrong. He is not thorough whatsoever. In general his bedside manners are just not there. I left the office both times very angry/disappointed and would not recommend this doctor to anyone.
