Horrible!!!
We arrived 15 minutes prior to appt, waited in waiting room for more than 45mins past appt time before being called back, waited in room for another 75 mins before PA entered, spent 10 mins with PA, and then had to wait another 65 mins for doctor to come in - for all of 3 mins, yes 3 mins! It was horrible - doc explained nothing at all, ordered some bloodwork and was told to schedule another appt, appt was scheduled for 6 weeks out - mind you I already had several tests done and records showing a Grade 3 prolapse that needed to be addressed. Will NEVER go back! Complete waste of time.

NEVER GO HERE
Waited to get in exam room. Finally took me back to exam room where I waited for over an hour. They finally knocked on the door after 5:00 and discovered that they had forgotten me and were CLOSING. Drove 30 minutes wasted 2 hours, never seen anyone. The only thing they did is collect my copay. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL!

Significant Scheduling Failure
After waiting 45 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, I was brought to an exam room where the assistant explained that since there was no test results for ultrasound or PSA, we could not complete the annual scheduled examination. This shuldo have been caught prior to my visit, on either of the two calls I received from the group (Academic Urology & Urogynecology of Arizona). I invested several hours traveling to, preparing for, and arriving early for my appointment only to have to reschedule it a month later. I now have written orders for the procedures that I must schedule for, but I never received them a year ago, nor has anyone called to let me know it's now a standard of care change.I believe this is a trend in this office as I couldn't help but overhear two other patients having the exact same experience. There was a lot of disappointment in the office today. The office staff were apologetic but blamed it on a prior scheduler that is long gone.

NEVER recommend - EVER!
Awful, awful, awful experience and I will never go back!! Dirty rooms, long wait times and Dr Stern's bedside manner: it's non-existent!! The office help does not know what they're doing. Fun Fact: Arizona is ranked one 45th in the US for healthcare!! So Dr Stern fits in perfectly and helps those stats! Way to go Dr Stern and Staff - keep up the 'low bar', along with sub-par care!!

Make sure you bring a lunch with you!
I waited in the packed waiting room while my husband went in. My husband said when Dr. Stern went in the room, there was no acknowledgment just looked at the problem and said he needed radiation then left! We can only assume we will recieve something by email or perhaps a phone call? Maybe? Who knows?

Scheduling difficulties
Was referred by my GP. Initial appointment was cancelled by office less than an hour before I was to arrive. Rescheduled an appointment for one month later (next available), which was then cancelled by text message. An attempt to make another appointment was less than fun, even with the 4 locations he seemingly utilizes. While on hold, I took the time to read online reviews, and decided that he was not worth this level of hassle. Seeking another Doc.

I was delayed for 1 hour after my appointment time to get in to see Dr Stern. I felt the appointment was rushed. I was given a script to get blood work. This was competed in a timely manner. I checked the web portal for results andNOTHING!!! I then called the office about the web portal and was told that it is still in development. I could not select my doctor or office and after 3 weeks still no results on the web portal. I requested a copy be mailed to.me and nothing!!! This practice should be shut down. This is the worst practice i have ever used. I have an appointment tomorronw and I am planning not to show. I am done with this practice. They have not shown any professionalism. I do not recommend this practice at all.

I had 4 visits regarding a stuck kidney stone, each time I was rescheduled for a follow up visit and told the stone was too small for them to do anything about it. The NP scheduled me for an ultrasound to follow a CT, told me the ultrasound was useless and ordered another CT. I refused, since the ultrasound provided all the info we needed. So two subsequent visits where I felt disregarded, was talked down to (I am a med professional) and dismissed by Dr. Stern who told me my pain was NOT in my kidney and sent me packing. (Had a subsequent visit to a non AUUA urologist where issue was addressed and great care was given in ONE VISIT.) All medical staff were disrespectful, but front desk was professional. I visited 3 of the AUUA locations and was appalled at how dirty the rest rooms were, no clean catch supplies provided, room not cleaned after use, urine on the floors and on the toilet seat.

Contacted Dr. Stern's OFFICE after husband was in MI ER to be catheterized (twice) due to full bladder. Office said he did NOT need a referral from VA to be seen. OFFICE saw him twice, once consultation visit, second to remove catheter. Office schedule 3rd appt for Dr Stern to examine/determine procedure. 2 days before 3rd appt. OFFICE calls to cancel due to "no referral" in file. VA cannot give referral to DR in time of 3rd appt. #1. OFFICE should NOT have scheduled appt w/o referral. #2 OFFICE should not have said he does NOT need a referral to be seen. #3. OFFICE should not have scheduled second appt w/o notifying patient that he NEEDED referral. ***OFFICE employees are extremely rude, degrading, talking over patient and not listening. Never, Never will we go to that OFFICE. I have reported this Dr and his OFFICE to the Atn. General for accepting VA patients for 2 visits - charging VA w/o service. The bill will come back to us.

Negligent in patient care. Zero responsibility for patient care. I had a PSA blood test done to check for prostate cancer. Several weeks after the test I called to get my results. This began a four to five week saga. First, the office claimed (falsely) the results had not been faxed to them. I verified they had been faxed. I called the lab and the person kept me on the line while the fax went through once again. Once I was certain the practice had been faxed the results, over the next two weeks I made another four to five calls to the office. None of my messages were returned. Finally, I sent an email giving 24 hours to present me with my results or I would file a complaint with the medical board. They called the lab, they didn't even ask for the results! They said it was patient responsibility to get the results. Exactly what is the provider's responsibility to the patient? Exactly what does this practice provide in terms of health care? Little to nothing.

He is moody, irritable and impatient. Best visit was when he was trying to get me to have him do surgery. Would not go back. There are many great Urologists that deal with men's issues. He is not one of them .
