I had been having back pain for years. Was to the point of not being able to move around due to the pain. I went thru numerous rounds of pain management and physical therapy. Dr Wood was able to schedule my surgery and relieve me of the pain I was having.

I began seeing Dr. Hicks about 2 years ago for back pain related to spondylolisthesis. He recommended conservative treatment. Physical therapy to strengthen my core muscles and walking. When this did not relieve my symptoms, he referred me to a pain specialist. I had 3 sterioid injections which were also ineffective. I returned to Dr. Hicks and by this time, he had just had spine surgery for the same issue. He carefully explained the surgery to me and answered all my questions. I appreciated his approach of recommending options before considering surgery. I was still not ready to committ to surgery, but would return to him if I did decide to have surgery. Thankfully a combination of Lyrica and continuing exercises has relieved my pain and I am stable at this time. He listened to me and was comitted to helping me.

Saw him for follow up on an mri I had.he told me what he couldn’t do for me.when he was finished he walked out of room and didn’t say goodbye.
