Really unhappy
I had to call today, Labor Day, to make sure I had the correct time to arrive at Kennestone for surgery I had with Dr Donahue to repair surgery I had in May. She was curt, abrupt, unpleasant and unfriendly because, I imagine, I had interrupted her holiday even though she was the doctor on call. I worked for WellStar for 12 years and hate to say I am so sick of them. How could you all be so cold?

Wellstar Orthopedics Trauma Surgery did surgery on my child in the ER 5 days ago after a major car accident. I've called all week since discharge about follow-up visit and nobody answers the phones. Phone goes to voicemail and nobody has called back. My child has a head full of staples and broken bones. A return call would be more than appropriate. I've called every number on the discharge papers. I've left many detailed messages. At this point I'm more than concerned. Please change the phone greeting callback expectations from '24 hours' to '100 or more hours if at all'. I will edit this review if and when they return the patient's phone calls.

Go To for Orthopedic Trauma Surgery!
I cannot say enough about Dr. Bruggers and the staff at Wellstar Orthopedic Trauma - Kennestone Hospital. From the front desk to X-ray to the exam room one is always greeted with friendly and smiling personnel. Dr. Bruggers did a fantastic job repairing a tibia and fibia fracture in Sept. 2023 (2 surgeries - ER then OR) and then treating me for an avulsion hip fracture in February 2024. Took time and patience but I am walking normally. First Class all the way.

Exceptional Orthopedic Care by a Top-Notch Doctor
From the moment I walked into Dr. Bruggers’ office, I knew I was in the hands of a consummate professional. Dr. Bruggers is not only a highly skilled orthopedic surgeon but also a compassionate individual who makes patient care a top priority. My journey with Dr. Bruggers began after a roller skating accident that resulted in a complex ankle fracture. Right from the initial consultation, Dr. Bruggers was meticulous in her approach—taking the time to explain all possible treatment options and the associated risks and benefits in a way that was easy to understand.I consulted with four doctors, and two from Resurgeons strongly suggested surgery, but I was hesitant about undergoing an operation. I decided against surgery, opting instead for a non-surgical approach. We monitored my healing biweekly, and the results were truly outstanding. What stood out the most, however, was her remarkable patience and deep understanding of my preferences. The results speak for themselves.

My son went to see Jennifer after being diagnosed with a broken wrist. She sent him for a CT scan... read the results and after 3 calls to the office to get him pain and anti inflammatory meds, was told by her extremely rude and condescending assistant that he didn't need surgery or a cast.... come back in a couple of weeks. I sent him to a hand specialist today, who put him in a cast immediately and scheduled surgery for the multiple fractures apparent. Jessica literally made fun of my accent (I'm British) when I asked if they planned on casting him. Cast, what is cast she said sarcastically. Oh, you mean cast (American accent).... Stay away. Go to Pinnacle Ortho instead. My son received outstanding care at Pinnacle Ortho.

Leg fracture. Dr. Bruggers operated, 2 hours. Stayed overnight. I was disappointed that she did not see me after surgery or followed up in any way until 2 weeks later. I also would have liked to hear specific advice on the rehab process. Questions I sent by email were not answered. Several office visits since then, mainly with her NP, not Dr. Bruggers. Be prepared for long wait times for office visits. It made me feel she does not care.

My left clavicle was broken and overlapped more than 3 cm. She performed surgery on me and installed a titanium plate with 7 screws. I healed beautifully. It is 3 months later and I now completely cleared to do all exercising. My scare is hardly noticeable. She did an awesome job and I would definitely recommend her.

I shattered my ankle in April and Dr. Bruggers operated on my leg repairing both my tibia and fibula with a few plates and screws. Every time I spoke with her, she reassured me that I'd be okay and that my progress was going well. She explained the whole process to me and she was clear about how physical therapy would go as well. She answered all of my questions and I trusted her with my treatment. Dr. Bruggers is a wonderful doctor.

Try to not get a trauma injury with Dr.Bruggers if you can't help to do so. I broke my femur last year (Nov 2015) and was transported Kennestone with a trauma injury.I spent several days in the hospital and it was a good healing place to be at that time and has been since the only thing was Dr.Bruggers. I found her very abrupt and non-caring about my health. It's been almost 7 months and I'm still on a walker and in my mid 30's! I would't advise anyone to go to Dr.Bruggers.

Dr Bruggers broke part of a bone off while in the operating room. She did not come to speak to me after surgery, but instead left a message saying she broke part of the tibia off. It's a year and a half later and she would never acknowledge there is a problem and my son cannot walk on his leg without a lot of pain. She kept wanting him to stretch it without any direct answers to what the problem was. I would not recommend Dr. Bruggers.
