Dr. Jennifer Hogan Wood, MD

Dr. Wood's osteotomy on my tibia seemed to be successful, and she was helpful during most of my aftercare. She gave me the information which I had sought. She estimated my recovery time to be three months. After six months, I had still not recovered, and the latest X-ray showed no significant healing from the X-ray of two months prior. After viewing this X-ray, she told me that she would prescribe a bone stimulator. After having waited and received no bone stimulator, I messaged her on MyChart to inquire when I might expect to receive it. I received an image of the application which she had made for the bone stimulator. On the application, it stated that my prognosis was poor. I had never heard from her that my prognosis was poor, so I asked her about this in a message. She didn't respond to my message. I later messaged one of her PAs, writing that Dr. Wood had not responded to me, and asking when would I receive the device. After eight months, I'm not recovered. Device never came.

Dr. Wood took the time to answer all my questions, extremely professional, kind, caring, and patient. I highly recommend she be at the top of the list of orthopedic surgeons in this area.

Dr. Wood explained the surgery at her office and again at the surgical site. Answered any questions that were not posed earlier. Felt safe for the procedure.

Dr. Wood took care of our mother when she broke her hip. We are so lucky to have had her as our surgeon. She was very caring, helpful, and informative and our mom is now doing great.

Dr. Wood never came out to the surgical waiting area to explain how the surgery went, if there were any complications, etc. This was despite being told by the staff in the waiting area that "she always comes out and talks to the family". The surgery was a success from a medical perspective, but the communication was poor.
