Dr. Jennifer Lewis, MD

Dr. Lewis thoroughness when speaking to you at your appointment in office. I suffered for years with abdominal pain going to one gastroenterologist after another and they just chalk it off to the multiple surgeries I’ve had. Dr. Lewis listened to me and scheduled an endoscopy right away, which resulted in finding several ulcers in my stomach. Dr. Lewis gave me prescriptions and saw me on a regular basis and alleviated all that pain that I suffered with for years.

My preference is someone smart, kind and confident. Best Gastro doc ever.

She did not listen to my concerns

I relate very well with Dr Lewis and have full appreciation for her knowledge, ability and bedside manner. She listens while considering my medical history, ( so yes, she is referencing my medical info in the computer while talking), asks questions to better understand, and is targeted and concise in her direction. She is efficient and has great follow through . I never feel rushed, in fact, we often have time to chat about our families or personal experiences. I worked in healthcare for over 25yrs before retiring and managed many disciplines of medicine. I would have been delighted to work with Dr Lewis professionally.

If you’re interested in listening to her talk about how educated she is with her degree rather than listen to the patient then this doctor is for you. I have never heard a Dr push medication as hard as her. I have been in remission from ulcerative colitis for 15 years with the help of diet, stress reduction and supplements. Dr Lewis’s words were clear ‘I do not believe in supplements’. If you care about your health and want someone who cares about you, find another doctor.

Dr Lewis listened to my concerns and had many answers for me

Dr. Lewis isn’t the friendliest person, and made me feel really stupid for asking questions. I didn’t appreciate being interrupted as I tried to answer her questions. She’s smart and knows her stuff, but says everything using medical terminology and doesn’t ensure you understand. I had to ask for clarification several times.

Due to COVID protocols, I was able to meet Dr. Lewis, using video visit. She listened to me, and took time to explain my options to proceed. The office staff followed up within 24 hours to schedule my procedures. I strongly reccomend Dr. Lewis and the Atlantic Digestive team.

I could hardly wait to get home from my appointment with Dr. Lewis to report my experience with this doctor. If you're looking for a kind bedside manner, empathy, and understanding, she's not for you. When she came into the room, she didn't introduce herself until she got seated and logged in to her computer. Really? I found her to be uncaring and a bit haughty throughout the fifteen-minute appointment - just what you don't need when you're not feeling your best. Choose another doctor.

Dr. Lewis seems like a nice person, but I didn't feel she truly listened to my concerns. She quickly dismissed an idea I had about cause of my GI problems. She recommended I have a CAT scan and abdominal ultrasound. I did the ultrasound to begin with since it was lower cost. My results were normal, and there was little follow-up on what to do next. I changed doctors and new doctor says they would not have recommended ultrasound or CAT scan based on my symptoms. Overall, would not recommend.

She now practices at Greater Boston GI in Framingham. Not real impressed. Pretty much demanded a colonoscopy and was told to go through another gammet of testing, finally got to a Dr. in Boston & he ordered colonoscopy right away due to all the symptoms. She's nice, great bedside manner, but I think she lacks the experience of a seasoned gastroenterologist. She's young.
