Best Well Woman Exam Ever!
I had the BEST, most comprehensive well woman exam of my LIFE. The best OBGYN in the world is Dr. Sparks. Seriously. She:-THOROUGHLY looked at my history and medications-told me about EVERY bit of testing possible for EVERYTHING-informed me I could get MRIs and genetic testing for breast cancer risk-ordered mammogram -offered STI testing-made sure I got Gardasil-checked my fibroid imaging-referred me for PT to learn kegels-asked about mental health and gave me options about that-counseled me on menopause and periods-inquired on my GI health She did not at any point rush me and in fact paused and let me take deep breaths if I got uncomfortable during the exam. I had no pain or stress. She pleasantly conversed and asked about my family and summer. I thought of a question afterwards and wrote her a note and she called me right back. I’ve seen her a couple times and she’s excellent!

Medical Assault
During the delivery of my second baby, Dr. Sparks took over my delivery with her own agenda. She did not communicate with me in any way and chose to do what she wanted without me. She never once asked me how I was doing or feeling or if I was in pain. She did not let me know important information that would have helped my delivery, for example, my baby was in a sunny side up position, which could make for a harder delivery. She put me on my back when I said I didn’t want that. She performed an episiotomy on me without speaking with me when my baby’s heart rate stabilized so it wasn’t an emergent situation. There was no discussion and no verbal consent and she didn’t even say she was doing it. I’d had no pain meds or epidural so this was the most painful part of my delivery. Instead of being communicative and working with me to deliver my baby, she took over, made her own choices and did not allow me to deliver in a way that made me feel comfortable in any aspect.

Dr. Sparks is a fantastic doctor! Between office visits with her and being lucky enough to have her deliver our first baby, she is great. She doesn't rush anything and takes the time to really listen to your questions. She went above and beyond in the delivery room too. She is always patient, and always sweet and gentle in mannerisms. Highly recommend!!!
