I chose Dr. Zander bc a few years ago she had great reviews and was highly recommended. My first visit with her was great. Unfortunately she went downhill fast, like all Northwestern doctors tend to do. On a personal level she is fantastic, but she fails to really examine her patients. I went to her for a thyroid condition, yet she is the first doctor that never did the standard neck examination of the thyroid gland. That should have been my first clue. Northwestern is notorious for not allowing patients to contact a doctor directly, so you can never get one on the phone, forcing people to communicate via MyChart. I gave her one star bc like other reviewers have mentioned, I have been getting the run around from her office now for a week regarding prescription updates that need to be made due to recent lab results showing a change in my thyroid levels. Her nurse responded that while they had the results, Dr Zander has yet to review them. Too busy. So much for her Hippocratic oath.

Unfortunately I experienced the same things as several others who have left reviews here. In my first appointment Dr Zander seemed to listen but then when my labs came in I have not been able to have the conversation with her or her staff as promised. I’m waiting on a new prescription and this stall is creating more problems with my condition. Very frustrating. I don’t think I’ll be returning.

Dr. Zander was nice during my first (and last) visit. She ordered labs to be done in 6 months. I had the labs done and received email that they were ready 2 days later. I called (and had to leave message) to get the Doctor's review of labs. Received call back asking where tests were done. Then after 2 or 3 phone calls and 3 messages on their site, never received message or call back after 4 weeks. I cancelled my next appointment which was in 6 months.

Great doctor. After having a bad experience with a different doctor, she has helped changed my attitude towards endocrinologists. She helped get my Hashimotos under control and is very willing to listen to any concerns I have. She always answers my questions and makes me feel like I am her only patient of the day. My only complaint is the wait time. But, she is worth the wait, and I'll stick with her, just hoping it improves.

Great doc – Jul 17, 2020

Her administration staff is awful. I have never had such a hard time getting a live person or getting my script filled or meds changed in a timely manner . My phone call with a problem went unanswered for 3 weeks and was only answered when a friend who works in the building stopped in on my behalf. Pharmacist had to give some pills to hold me over as I still don’t have a refill!

My appointment with Dr. Zander was great. She was very informative and took the time to talk to me. It was my first appointment with her, and unfortunately my last. For the next two months all I got was a runaround from her office with regards to test results, prescriptions and a bill in which they tried to charge me for a copay that I paid when I was there. Zander is great, her office help ruined it.

Dr. Zander is a great, Understanding doctor that will take the time to listen to all of your concerns. I know mostly I was the one to get my A1C down to a good level but she helped alot with the right amount of insulin and the great support. I would say is only down side is now with the way hospitals are and that she is part of Palos Medical Group, she is unable to see you if your admited but shes more then willing to assist over the phone direct with your PCP.
