Spine Surgery
First of all, Dr. Steinberg has the best, kindest bedside manner I have ever experienced from any doctor. His personality and attention to detail both pre- and post-op is matched by his incredible skill as a surgeon. I would honestly and gladly rate his a thousand stars if I could. After considerable research, I selected Dr. Steinberger for back surgery. From my initial consultation to now 1 month after surgery, I have had a truly transformative experience thanks to his as well as his thoughtful, professional staff. Initially, 2 years ago when the back pain became intolerable I was recommended to see Dr. Steinberger. After the x-rays, scans, etc. he recommended not to proceed but let's try other remedies first. We tried rehab, stretching, meds, pain management, etc. Finally, after nothing worked, we decided to proceed.Thank you......you changed my life!

Dr. Steinberger is top in his field but he also has a fabulous bedside manner. He explained everything he was going to do for my cervical fusion in terms I could understand and showed me visuals too. He even ran a special MRI to ensure that he had the best views to decide on particulars about the surgery. As with before, after the surgery, he patiently answered my questions, listened to my thoughts and wonderings, and even referred me to a plastic surgeon because the scar was not as perfect as he wanted it to be. I highly recommend him without reservation-I'd give him 10 stars if possible! He is everything you want in a surgeon--knowledgeable, patient, warm bedside manner, and kind.

Dr. Sternberger is knowledgeable (I am a neuroscientist so I can generally tell) attentive and clearly dedicated to doing the best job possible. Unlike many surgeons who exhibit an exaggerated self-assuredness, he was open about seeking other perspectives and conducting research prior to my surgery. He is paradigmatic of the clinical scientist and is a decent human being. I strongly recommend him.

He was extremely attentive and explained things in a way I understood. He told me I do not need surgery at this point even though two other surgeons recommended an aggressive fusion surgery. I appreciated this.
