If there was a lower grade he would receive it. He spent no time reveiwing my chart. But was quick to jump to his own conclusions instead of looking at past history. He wanted to do tests that have been done before because he didn't want to look for the past result. If you are looking for god you have found it. If on the other hand you are looking for a caring,competent Dr who can admit they sometimes don't have all the answers keep looking.

My family and I have been with Dr Merkel since our daughter was born 14 years ago. He released her from the hospital, became her Dr and evolved into our Family Dr. We feel very fortunate to have had such a knowledge, caring, and patient Dr as new partners. Our daughter is now a teenager and continues to feel very comfortable with Dr Merkel. We highly recommend!!!

Horrible. Husband saw him re: number of issues. Blood work came back w some red flags of heart disease indicators and he never even addressed it w him.
