So after experiencing a herniated disc that caused horrible back, leg and sciatica pain along with leg and foot numbness I was referred to Dr. Du. By my PMP. Dr. Du realized that after trying all non invasive for 8 months my condition was a candidate for surgical intervention. It was proposed that surgery to clip off the disc extrusion would provide some if not all of my condition. He was very clear about the pros and cons of the proposed surgery and the risks involved. After 30 minutes spent discussing all aspects of the surgery I decided to indeed go that route. After pre op verbal and physical fitness exams were performed I had the surgery done Dr. Du. Within 4 weeks post op I no longer experienced back and leg pain as well as having full reduction in leg and foot numbness. In addition the drop foot I had was gone after 3 months. All in all my experience with Dr. Du was very good. Very good at explaining procedures and very good at obtaining most all good results

I received a call back after I requested additional information regarding my situation. Jerry spent a little more time on the phone with me (possibly) than the norm. He got frustrated with me and mentioned he called me back when instead, he could be home with his family. He may be a doctor, but it doesn’t give him the right to treat others with less consideration. I raised three children as a single parent with a very demanding career and many times I missed opportunities with my family. I was absolutely speechless with this comment. Very hurtful and unprofessional.

Dr. Du was very professional and had a great bedside manner. He explained pertinent issues and arranged continuing medical tests for more specific outcomes.

My appt which was supposed to 45 minutes was only 15. He was impatient with his questions and I don't feel he ordered the correct diagnostic test. When enquiring about my next steps, he just shrugged and said he didn't know. Seriously? Then refer me to someone who can help.

I first saw another spine surgeon at another location, but didn't feel we hit it off well.
