He hasn't done the surgery on me yet, only Exam.
As a surgeon, I found 'Jesse' very easy going. It was like conversing with a friend. He gave thorough explanations of what he intended to do surgically, and I totally understood. We discussed presurgical preparations, the actual procedure details, and post-surgical recovery actions. I have had four major OR surgeries performed by members of the Cape Cod Orthopedics & Sports team, all with excellent results. Based on what I recently experienced with Jesse I'm expecting the same quality outcome. Check back with me for follow-up after the procedure.

Dr. Affonso is caring, knowledgeable and friendly.
I have seen Dr. Affonso for well over a year. First I received a cortisone injection in my shoulder, then I had a reverse shoulder replacement just over a year ago. His technique is 4 star, because immediately after surgery my pain was gone. Once I got out of the sling (which is a nuisance) I could move my arm well and I have no pain or Range of motion limitations. I highly recommend him.

In our initial visit, Dr. Affonso very clearly explained the scope of the surgery and listed all benefits, and limitations, of my total reverse shoulder replacement. His presentation and likable nature gave me a lot of confidence in going forward.

I could not have scripted a better experience.
Dr. Alfonso walked me through all of my options. After exhausting the non surgical approaches, he was able to repair my shoulder. The PT has been challenging but made doable with the guidance of the team at Cape Cod orthopedics. All of the staff including the surgeon have been nothing but professional. The only thing I would change is not falling off the ladder in the first place.

Top notch surgeon!
Pre op was smooth and info collected on time so day of surgery was perfect. Went better than anticipated and post op has been going well. Worse day was when the block wore off but still feeling better for being 4 days from surgery. Excellent surgeon and his whole staff!

Smart and knowledgable with great bedside manner
Dr. Affonso is thorough in his examinations and quickly knows exactly what the issue is. He is ready with a list of all possible options. He wanted me to be as involved in the decision making as I wanted to be. He is kind, thoughtful and engaging - ready with a big smile that puts his patients quickly at ease.
