Impatient
Most of my visit was done by Dr. Maxwell's assistant, leaving me with only a few precious minutes with the doctor herself. From the moment she entered the room I felt she was impatient and couldn't wait to get me out of the office. When I explained some side effects I had experienced from a recent medication I was given by my PCP she made a twisted, puzzled face, as if she couldn't believe what she was hearing. As a patient this made me feel like she thought I was lying or making it up or something. I found it to be very unprofessional. After a brief check of my ears and throat I was sent on my way, feeling like I had completely wasted my time.

Best ENT Doctor, skilled surgeon, caring, kind.
I am a disabled combat veteran with many ENT issues. I have had a very positive experience with Dr. Jessica Maxwell, an Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose & Throat) Specialist for the last 8 plus years at the Washington, DC Veterans Hospital. Dr. Maxwell is an amazing and caring Doctor who performed many ENT examinations, surgeries, and prescribed appropriate medications. Dr. Maxwell is a highly skilled Surgeon and the best ENT Doctor I have ever had. I highly recommend Dr. Maxwell to all ENT patients, especially Veterans. She will be missed at Washington, DC VAMC.

addendum:
unfortunately, after the great review, we were disappointed she did not return phone calls or email requests for follow-up.

I'm 77 years old and a VietNam veteran. I'd lived with severe sleep apnea my entire life, that is, until a year ago when Dr. Maxwell performed the Inspire procedure on me. Over the years I had tried various CPAP machines but couldn't tolerate them because, ironically, their loud noises kept waking me up. Also, just having a hose attached to my face all night intruded on my sleep. Since Dr. Maxwell implanted the Inspire device, I've never slept better and I'm told that my snoring is practically nonexistent. Dr. Maxwell is highly skilled and confident. Her demeanor is so positive and friendly that I felt completely at ease throughout the entire process. Wayne Shewmaker December 15, 2020 - in VA

Dr. Maxwell provided excellent care to my 89 year-old dad. She implanted an Inspire device to alleviate his severe sleep apnea and was thorough, patient, authoritative, skillfull, and not least of all, compassionate. The device will be started up shortly and should be a life-changer.

Dr. Maxwell saved my life. She and her team cared for me from the moment I was diagnosed with cancer until the moment the cancer was defeated. She took the time to meet with my family and ease their anguish as they searched for answers about my condition that she alone with the help of God could provide. She never gave up on me. Two things stand out in my mind that I will never forget. Every person in her team that I interacted with referred to her as “the best surgeon they knew – someone they could trust”. In more than one occasion she cleaned and cared for my wounds personally even though it was clearly not her job. She took time during weekends to check on my condition personally. One of the nurses told me that she could not believe Dr. Maxwell was checking on me since she was officially on vacation. I trusted her with my life once, and I will gladly do it again.
