Wouldn’t honor my appointment
Had an appointment on 1/3/23 the girl said she didn’t see me on the schedule and asked if I had a card with my appointment. I pulled out my card she took it in the back and came back and told me I’d still have to reschedule he was ‘too busy’ to fit me in even though they made the appointment. Apparently whoever made it didn’t bother to enter it into their system. So I make another appointment for 1/5/23 this time my GPS takes me to the wrong place. I call to see if they can still get me in again told he was ‘too busy’ to fit me in. At that point I told them I would find a different doctor. Oh and my first appointment he was rushed and almost dismissed my sprained wrist that I have shooting pains in.

Prior to moving to North Carolina, an internationally famous clinic in north Texas had been treating the arthritis in my knees. They were supposed to be the gold standard. Then I met Dr. Castillo. From the beginning, he took an active stance--arranging for a terrific knee brace, suggesting a different palliative protocol, and getting me off a schedule of every 90 days returning for steroid shots. For me and my joint disease, he was a godsend. I also like his style. He takes time to explain things, both the up- and the downsides. He's direct, smart, and expert.

My experience with Dr. Castillo and his staff was great. I am not sure about some of the negative reviews listed below. I found that he truly cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain what is wrong with you, he tries to draw on dry-erase boards that he has in the exam rooms and at the end he asks if I had any questions. Also he is not one of those surgeons that just wants to operate, he went over both surgical and non surgical options with me and said "let's try some PT first".

What a wonderful experience. In the not so happy time I was having after breaking my ankle I saw Dr. Castillo. He was so friendly and honest with my situation. He explained to me what was the best treatment for me and my life style after the ankle surgery. He got me in quick for the surgery. The surgery and afterwards recovery were a piece of cake. Post op check in 1 week with a great healing process. In physical therapy now and recovering nicely. He is my broke bone go to!!

I would not recommend this Doctor to anyone, he performed surgery on me for a broken ankle, I felt that he did a great job on the surgery itself but the after care has been horrific. I have been in terrible pain for over 3 weeks and his policies are to not give pain medication after 4 weeks of surgery and claims this is how he treats everyone, I don't think any two surgery patients are the same so I found this difficult to deal with. He seems to not care if you are truly in pain, bad experience!

Trapped ulnar nerve during examination, nerve damage left side body, went back week later & seen by PA Angela Rigdon walks in & says, "he's not going to prescribe you any narcotics", obviously unaware she should pretend to listen to patients before denying meds, then proceeded to blame-shift declaring the pain due to not having completed physical therapy during Thanksgiving weekend. She said, "then it's just part OF it", "it's your attitude", & said she didn't like how my head moves when I speak
