Dr. Xu has been more than a great endocrinologist, she has turned my diabetes management around to a happy controlled existence for me. I’ve been seeing Dr. Xu for several years now and couldn’t be happier with the care I receive, whether it’s a routine visit or a response to a question or need for medication renewal. Staff is top-notch as well!

So Grateful for Dr. Xu
For several years I had been having great difficulty managing my diabetes II. My specialists at UCSF were neither very caring nor effective. Eventually my PCP referred me to Dr. Xu. The change in my treatment since I became Dr. Xu's patient is nothing short of a miracle. As an endocrinologist she has proven to be exceptionally smart, knowledgeable of the latest developments in a fast-changing area of medicine, and willing to try creative (albeit scientifically sound) options that have bettered my life. Before I appointments she studies my case and knows what is going on with me before we meet. Dr. Xu is an exceptionally kind and caring physician and person. She listens well to my needs, concerns, and questions, and takes the time to make sure I am an equal participant in my care. I feel so deeply grateful Dr. Xu is my endocrinologist, especially in today's world of medicine where too many physicians seem to forget the human being behind the clinical condition.

Dr. Xu is one of the most thorough and kind doctors I ever had. I never feel rushed and she has always been on time. She decided to test for things that other doctors have missed. She is super understanding and straight forward at the same time. I don’t understand the negative reviews. I recently transferred my care over to her from a doctors office in walnut creek and couldn’t be happier.

Where to start.... Dr. Xu has been an amazing influence and has been instrumental in not only prolonging my life with excellent care, but also improved the quality of my life. Her ability to listen in an open and receptive manor and her willingness to explain what the tests mean have helped me to make wonderful decisions that have been transformative. She is not only personable and intelligent she is kind and competent. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who would like to have quality care as an individual, not just as a patient number.

Dr. Xu was awful. I saw her over a year ago, but recently found her business card and remembered how rude and condescending she was towards me. She was demeaning and had no interest in listening to me. I actually cried when I got home because I couldn't process how rude she was to me while I was still there. Now, I am angry and shocked that she is still working at John Muir. Their standards need to be higher.

My visits with dr. Xu have always been wonderful! She is one of the best Endochronologists I have seen and has been very helpful with helping me manage my type 1 diabetes. She is kind, always concerned and puts in a lot of effort to help me control my blood sugars better. She is very up to date with the latest advances in blood sugar management, too. I highly recommend her!

My experience with this doctor was disappointing. She does not listen; I had to tell her the same thing 4 times. She also has trouble reading test results. Avoid at all costs.

My PCP referred me to Dr. Xu after not being able to get my T2 Diabetes in control. Dr. Xu, was and is very professional. She has changed my medications and my A1C is really doing great. Every office visit she listens and hears what I'm saying and I am very grateful for that. It's been several years since I had a great Endocrinologist and she is at the top. I would recommend her highly.

Perhaps the best doctor I’ve seen for diabetes. She is a direct, no nonsense professional. I find her knowledge of the nuances of diabetes and blood sugar management to be excellent. The personal care and compassion she has shown me as well as my wife is not something I have alwaysed experienced. I am very pleased with the quality of service I receive from Dr. Xu.

My health had been progressively declining for a few years. My primary MD referred me to Dr. Xu. Prior to my initial visit with Dr. Xu, I had researched my symptoms, and prepared a long list of questions to review. Dr. Xu spent a lot of time answering all of my questions, as well as asking many of her own. She listened to me and immediately addressed my concerns. Once my test results confirmed her diagnosis, my treatment plan was underway. I now feel the best I have felt in the past 3 years!

I was very surprised to read a negative review of Dr. Xu. I have found her to be the best physician I've seen in a very long time. At my first visit I sensed I had finally found a good & caring doctor; my subsequent visits have born out my initial impression. She knows how to communicate clearly, shows real interest in how I'm progressing & in the past year I've developed a solid trust in her care. She's personable & devotes the time necessary to listen &answer questions. I highly recommend her!

I went to Dr. Xu for issues with my thyroid. I have had hypothyroidism for over 20 years and have taken several different medications. I know the differences in medication. She pushed me into stopping my current medication and told me that I would be better off on levothyroxine (which I've taken before with not much success). She literally told me not to "think so much about it" (meaning my hypothyroid issues). She insinuated that my symptoms were all in my head. So unprofessional.
