Zero compassion or empathy
I had several visits with Dr Pan for a very very unique and rare condition. My previous neurologist who had been treating me successfully was retiring, so this selection was a shot in the dark just trying to see a Dr in the Torrance Memorial Physician's Network. Despite my current treatment working, which was a non pharmaceutical, she insisted I needed an Rx with many untoward side effects. She discounted totally the successful treatment by my previous doctor. The only thing she did do is suggest some scans which was smart but in their system I fell through the cracks and was never able to get a scan appointment. Neurologists are hard to come by and always booked. Neurologists need to listen to detail first and foremost since it's a complicated system, however, this one lacks listening skills, compassion and empathy and I'm sorry but that's a necessity for a good doctor let alone a great one.

Un-empathetic
Dr. Pan lacks empathy and compassion. I am experiencing brain fog, chronic pain and fatigue from long COVID for about a year now. During a memory test, she made me feel stupid with her slightly condescending remarks and tone when I couldn’t remember a few words or do simple math in my head…hence why I need medical attention, my brain isn’t working like it used to. I wanted to break down and cry because I was struggling, but I pushed through and cried on my way home. She also said my symptoms “just” sound like depression. I’m not saying it isn’t, but there is way more to my story than “just” depression. Had she asked more question about my brain health, my environment, my lifestyle, she would have learned more and realized depression is just a small component of what is going on with me. I spoke with the manager at the doctors office and she was 1000% more empathetic and compassionate. I wish she was my doctor.

Very abrupt and unhelpful
Dr. Pan is just going through the motions and each patient is just a number to her. She meets with each patient for five minutes, makes perscriptions, and moves on. I don’t recommend.

Does not inspire confidence
She gave me several inappropriate referrals to doctors who weren't even in the specialty I needed to see. She also ordered the wrong test for me. My treatment was held up for months because of this. She seems like she doesn't know what she's doing.
