Dr. Jim Liu, MD

He recommended I get a TAVR procedure to replace my atrial valve. A couple of years after the procedure I came down with a temperature that came and went for weeks. I complained to his nurse practitioner and she didn’t know what it was. I was eventually hospitalized and was diagnosed with an infected valve. I tried to contact him and he hasn’t responded to this day. He abandoned me. I had the TAVR done at the Cleveland Clinic which I highly recommend. The doctors at Memorial wanted to treat me with antibiotics, but I went back to Cleveland and had the valve replaced there instead of OSU, by this time I head a stroke when the valve pumped bacteria up into my brain. I was in the hospital for 3 months and I almost died! My advice is if you get assigned to DR.Lui find someone else.

To begin, I waited for over an hour in the exam room. I explained my symptoms and he disregarded them but instead offered generic responses. Any experienced doctor will tell you that heart disease symptoms are different for men and women and he did not care to discuss but rather disregard me. There is no genuine concern with this doctor but rather ease of condescending the patient. If you are looking for a proactive, concerned, knowledgable cardiologist, I would not recommend Dr. Liu.
