Dr. Joanne Swift, MD

I have been going to dr swift I think for three years. She is by far the best gyn/on doctor that I have come in contact with. Yes she does seem relaxed and may make some jokes but that is only to make the patient feel relaxed. Her techniques are spot on and she is very up front with her recommendations. I would definitely recommend her. She truly is the best

She is extremely ignorant of any kind of bedside manner, as well as very rough when doing an internal exam. My daughter had also gone to her without knowing this and had the same experience. I’ll never go to her again and will let everyone I know how she treats her patients.

I was very nervous going into my appointment with Dr. Swift, as it was my first time for a scheduled pap smear. However, she put me at complete ease by cracking jokes and explaining what she was doing as she was doing it. She was very reassuring and took the time to give explanations and advice. Overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be returning and referring others to her.

Dr. Swift's practices and bedside manner are the worst. I was TWO AND A HALF WEEKS late (if I had known then what I know now). I saw Dr. Swift on a late evening appointment. She conducted a stress test which was clearly not going well. She called in a technician to get her opinion (she was barely talking to me). She then attempted to do an internal but it was too painful. She indignantly commented "I have the smallest fingers in the practice!" In any event, she sent me home and scheduled an epidural for the morning so the internal could be done. I began cramping before the appointment because the baby was in distress. An emergency C-section was performed because my daughter swallowed meconium. She wasn't breathing when she was delivered. She was in the NICU for a week. She still has lung issues. All of this could have been avoided had she sent me to the hospital when the stress test was done and the baby's movements were not clear and by communicating with me.

I was nervous to see Dr. Swift after seeing the fellow reviews. I was seeing her for my 38 week appointment. I loved her! She was friendly, gentle, & sat with us, cracking jokes & putting me at ease. I was a high risk pregnancy & was uneasy as we approached delivery. I had my typical MFM appointment earlier that morning & she sat there going over everything from the morning, reassuring me that everything still looked good & I had made it to the finish line. That night was the first time I walked out of the office feeling confident that my baby would be okay. There are doctors there that are great, but no one put me more at ease than Dr. Swift

My experience with Dr Swift is very similar to a lot of the women above. She was completely oblivious to anything and everything I said. Completely disregarded my concerns about my pregnancy and taking Zoloft into my third trimester. She did not even look over my chart when I voiced concerns over my anxiety induced contractions at 28 weeks. Told me it was normal with a second pregnancy, mind you this is my fourth. Didn’t look at my chart at all. Do not trust her to not force c-section.

Absolutely the worst experience ever. This is a doctor who should retire NOW!! It's obvious she does not care about her patients.

At my 37 week appointment, Dr. Swift informed me that my baby is already 10lb 3 oz and told me to "try smoking with the next one." She did not say this in what I would call a joking manner, and both my husband and I were absolutely speechless. My husband is 6'4 with huge shoulders and was over 10 lbs when he was born, but she acted like it was my fault the baby is so big.

I have been seeing Dr Swift for years. She always meets with me first to go over concerns or issues prior to going into the exam room. She is friendly but I would say rather quick with exam and would like her to be a little more thorough which is the reason for the 4 rating. I do feel she addresses issues & explains them well.

I've seen several doctors in this practice and this is my least favorite. I left in tears at my last prenatal visit. I'm pregnant and single with a history of depression and have concerns about my health and this pregnancy which my job impacts. She told me that she can't do anything about my concerns and rushed me through the appointment. I don't know why this practice makes me have so many prenatal appointments when I spend maybe 2 minutes with the doctor at each visit and they rush me.

Just to quick and didnt diagnosed me correctly. HORRIBLE doesnt have time for patience....And doesnt to her own D & C......

I was referred to Dr. Swift by a friend after our gyn retired. I find her to be very thorough as well as very pleasant. I have not only had my regular and routine gyn visit with her, but have also had two procedures, one in the office and one at the outpatient surgical center. Both experiences were as pleasant as one could expect and the bedside manner of both Dr. Swift and her staff was excellent.

She needs serious bed side manner training. It is not professional to say, I can't answer that or, just say No when both questions I asked where already proven to be successful for women having twins in studies. There was more, but I will keep it at this as I don't want to waste even more time then I already have with her.
