Amazing surgeon
Amazing surgeon, managed to remove half my tumor in wat was described as the worst possible place to operate, the brain cancer had been causing paralysis and since half was removed it gave me time to get further treatment through radiation and much therapy to regain mobility only con to Dr. Hidalgo is he is horrible at completing paperwork, woke up from brain surgery with no pain meds not fun but other than that I recommend.

Fantastic skilled surgeon
He displayed the skills and demeanor to decide me to allow him to operate on my brain. The only one I have. He had been a calming voice in this maelstrom process and had not let me down in any way. He is empathetic, and vastly capable.

Craniotomy, tbi with sub/epidural hemorrhage
One of the best doctors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. My 17 year old daughter had an atv accident, she had multiple code events, her t2 vertebrae was fractured and her skull was broken, she had subdural hematoma, epidural hemorrhaging with 7mm midline shift and Dr. Hidalgo was the neurosurgeon on call and he did an amazing job, as she still here today, walking and talking, I couldn't ask for more. He is a genuinely caring doctor, listens and responds to any concerns. The attending ER doctor that night told us she might not make it...Dr. Hidalgo along with his team didnt sugar coat her condition after surgery I felt heartbroken...on day 3 Dr. Hidalgo came in for a CCU visit, as he did everyday, and that was first time I seen him smile, he was smiling because he knew she was gonna live, he puts his heart into his work and you can see it, its written all over him. If you ever need a neuro he is the BEST!

Very successful Laminectomy and fusion surgery
Dr. Hidalgo performed this surgery 2 years ago after I had severe back pain and difficulty walking. He was very thorough in explaining everything prior to surgery and follow up care after surgery. The thing that really impressed me—other than a very successful surgery—was that he always took time to talk to me and my husband and answer any questions. And that he involved me in the decision making process. Pain in my back was gone immediately after surgery (other than pain related to the procedure) and I was able to walk upright again and after a few months was walking as far and for as long of a time period as I had prior to the beginning of severe back pain. My husband and I usually walked about 3 to 4 miles a day. I am very thankful that he performed my surgery.
