I was sent to see Dr. Wozney for a follow up appointment from another specialist. I had been living with a dx for 15+ years and the specialist had some questions about additional symptoms and test results I recently had. Dr. Wozney made it very clear that I was wasting her time and must be in denial about my dx. I was told by Dr. Wozney that she had done an internship (not sure of time frame) in my doctor's area of specialty, and that clearly was more valuable than the decades my specialist had or my 15+ years of having this dx. Turns out (after my blood work) that my specialist was on to something. I think about this appointment and how Dr. Wozney shamed me into thinking I was in denial. I just wanted to ensure it was not anything else scary. Dr. Wozney needs to educate herself on active listening. Perhaps because she is young, she wanted to show me what she knew but she failed to do so and ended up looking foolish and egocentric to her patient and the specialist who referred me.
