I would not recommend this doctor at all! he did a total knee replacement on left knee, one year later I needed a revision, he put the wrong size in, it was loose, I went up almost double in size , he left ligaments hanging behind my knee. kept telling him something was wrong, that the knee was unstable and kept falling, he just said, “ He did the surgery right “ no, no he didn’t. In my opinion he is the worst orthopedic surgeon! My advice don’t let him operate on you. Find another doctor . My new orthopedic surgeon did a fantastic job, knee is great, and stable, so glad I found a new orthopedic doctor! I tell everyone what Dr. Joel smith did to me.

Excellent experience
Dr Smith was knowledgeable and advised me what course of action we needed to take, which was not knee replacement, thank goodness. Steroid shot and physical therapy. The staff was quick and efficient, on top of things and quite helpful.

I had knee pain for years and had multiple surgery's. Dr Smith performed my total knee replacement, and it's been great. I had very little post surgery pain and was able to return to work in 4 weeks with less pain than before the surgery. it's been 3 months and I'm walking well with little to no pain. I wish I would have done it sooner.

I never needed surgery in my 44 years of life until I was sent To Dr. Smith. He repaired my complex miniscus tear and 9 months later it feels as if nothing happened. I have to see him again to fix my other knee as I hurt it now. I’m the same way but I don’t want anyone else doing it him. People always said once you let Them cut that knee open it’ll never be the same again. Well, it’s not the same... it’s by far better. I strongly advise him.

Dr. Smith is the best, most caring and efficient orthopedic surgeon I've had to consult. after seeing 5 different surgeons, Dr. Smith was the only one with the experience, knowledge, and desire to help me. He didn't want to give up on me. I thank God that He directed me to Dr. Smith. He is a blessing to anyone hurting and who have been told there's nothing that can be done! As I said, BEST Surgeon in the field of orthopedics.

Without Dr. Smith's integrity, principles and skills, I wouldn't be walking as well as I am. He fixed someone else's mistake and did not give up on me as his patient. I will trust and recommend him to anyone who wants to trust their surgeon to care enough and to provide excellent and quality care. His staff's performance are above any other medical staff I have dealt with. He will listen to you as a person and will recommend a protocol after careful consultation with his practice colleagues.

I am retired but highly active and wish to remain that way. I recently attended a seminar at Baptist about the Mako Robotic assisted surgery with Dr. Joel Smith. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Smith and his staff in NLR. Total knee replacement done in April, 2018. My progress has been amazing! Dr. Smith is straightforward, answers all questions, understanding of your personal concerns and so is his staff. I highly recommend Dr. Smith for your orthopedic needs. Great surgeon!

Dr. Smith is an amazing doctor. He really listens to his patients and their concerns. After talking to him for a few minutes, you'll feel you're talking to a friend and not an orthopedic surgeon. He cares so much about his patients and their health and it really shows. I've had two knee surgeries by Dr. Smith this year. They've been tough to get through but this dr has been incredibly supportive and I don't think I could've done it without him. I will never be able to thank him enough.

Dr. Smith is an amazing surgeon and has great bedside manner. My daughter dislocated her knee, he tried methods other than surgery. When the surgery had to be done he personally called us and described what needed to be done.
