I can't say enough good things about Dr Alford. He always takes his time to explain everything in detail. Most importantly I have had him do surgeries on both of my knees and he did an outstanding job.

Rotator cuff tear
My first visit was with a PA. She was awesome in her understanding and listening to me explain. Xray showed unusual tissue and mri was ordered. This showed a tear in my rotator cuff as well as scar tissue from injury. Second visit was with dr Alford. He explained my mri results and showed me on monitor . We discussed repair surgery and I agreed. Surgery went excellent. I had it done at Orthori facility. Staff was amazing. I wore a sling for 10 days. Then started physical therapy 18 days after surgery. I went to Orthori pt in high street in Wakefield . Close to my home. I am now 5 months post surgery. Doing exercises at home and I almost have total range of motion back. I recommend Dr. Alford and his team.

this guy is trash> Instead of fixing my shoulder he destroyed it becasuse of his angry incompetence. This guy has anger and resentment issues rolled up into a passive aggressive personality holding a scalpel. I'm cripple now because of John.

Dr. Alford has worked on both of my shoulders (left in 2009 and right this past December). I had a full recovery from my left shoulder surgery and am still going to physical therapy for the right shoulder but it is feeling better every day. He is very attentive and spends the time to explain what is going on with you and how he plans to fix things. I have nothing but praise for him and his staff. I am looking forward to a complete recovery and would (and have) recommend him to others.

Dr. Alford got me fixed up! I was misdiagnosed by other doctors for 2.5 years with shoulder pain which often led to the inability to lift my arm. One surgeon said that I had a tear, but it was not operable. PT would temporarily help me. Dr. Alford identified my problem in the first visit. There were actually 3 tears and some scar tissue that Dr. Alford had to fix. I felt very little pain from the surgery. I am now 6 months out, have full range and am extremely satisfied!

Misdiagnosed a tear in my medial meniscus as scar tissue, don't think he ever looked at the mri. Sent me to physical therapy on it twice. Every visit he was backed up 45 min+. Every visit seemed like it was his first time seeing me, he ignored me when I told him where my pain was instead insisting it was somewhere else on my knee. Ended up being fed up with his treatment of me, got a second opinion and surgery the next week. Avoid at all cost

Dr. Alford replaced my shoulder. I had a full recovery and have regained the use of my shoulder. This surgeon is patient and supports each step of recovery. His instructions for physical therapy completed the process. I would highly recommend Dr. John Alford as a surgeon to anyone with arthritic joints like mine. Diane C
