Quiet but focused and Excellent
The Capitol Eye Consultants arranger my surgery for cataracts at Fairfax Surgical Center and Dr Baldinger was the surgeon. He was quiet but focused , with attention to detail. I was in and out of surgery with no complications. Thank you to Dr. Baldinger and his staff for their god given talent! He has given me new eyesight!

Dr. Baldinger performed laser and cataract surgery on both of my eyes in April 2021. I am very pleased with the results. The surgery and PanOptix trifocal lens has greatly improved my vision in both eyes, which appear to have fully healed. I also appreciated how Capital Eye Consultants disclosed my total cost of the surgery in advance.

My experience with Dr. Baldinger was awful. During one cataract surgery he scratched my cornea during the procedure, failed to tell me about it and sent me home in great pain w/o medicine. I had NO idea why I was experiencing this pain until I returned the following day and pressed the issue with another doctor. I'm sure he's a fine doctor and this was just an accident but the fact that he didn't say anything to me before I left the center & left me not knowing and in pain tells me he doesn't care for his patients.

Disappointed. – Apr 11, 2021

Excellent. Dr Baldinger came very highly recommended by my own optometrist AND I got a second opinion. I have had several appts and procedures plus follow ups over the last 5 years and he and his staff have always been very professional. They answered my questions and concerns thoroughly and I felt I could trust what they were recommending. I was in good hands every time.

I wish to God I could put in zero stars. First of all I'm not unhappy with the work that Dr. Baldinger performed. But a doctor's staff can make or break a practice. We sent in a payment a month ago (and BTW I was just told by the HSA provider to NEVER send a debit card number though the mail). Other payments sent that day were processed, and previous payments to CEC using the same HSA card went though. To my shock and deep embarrassment, I just got a dunning letter from an attorney for the amount we sent in plus interest and attorney's fees. I'm going to assume that it was either not processed or lost in the mail. When I spoke to the office manager she made it very clear that it's my fault, it's my problem, and no - they're not going to help in any way. It would appears that sending in a payment's not enough - you have to make sure a company processes it.

I wish I had read the negative reviews online before undergoing cataract surgery with Dr. Baldinger. Long wait times were the norm and you don't always see the same doctor post-op. If you're lucky to experience a good outcome then maybe this place is for you. But if you're like me and experience post surgical complications beware. I had to seek a second opinion because this group was unresponsive. I'm mad at myself for not doing due diligence in finding a better doctor.

Even my previous Ophthalmologist spoke highly of Dr. Baldinger and his surgical skills in the OR. Very precise and has second to none experience in the industry of Cataract surgery.

Dr Baldinger is an outstanding cataract surgeon. He and his team did an exceptional job taking care of me during my recent cateract surgery - from initial planning, through surgery and follow-up, they did a great job. His experience in this region of the country is unrivaled, and he came highly recommended by other physicians. I traveled from Annapolis, MD to Fairfax, VA to have the benefit of his care and I would unconditionally recommend he and his Capital Eye Consultants team to others!

If I could give a 0 star I would. I took my father to get his cataract surgery done at this office. His previous eye physician had referred us to this office and let us know that his left eye severely needed to get the surgery done first. Not only did this office not do the surgery on his left eye first, they refused to work on his left eye months after his right eye’s surgery. They wanted to fix something cosmetic before working on the left eye. Now, he is legally blind in his left eye.

Dr Baldinger replaced the lens in both my eyes. He is an excellent surgeon, possibly the best local eye surgeon. I've read many reviews of his practice. They all reflect my experience. Those who rate him highly tend to do so because he is an excellent surgeon. Those who rate him poorly tend to do so because he and the practice in general are cold and efficient. If you want a great surgeon go here. If you want "hand holding" go somewhere else.

Went in for preliminary exam for cataract problem. Did not see Baldinger! Male technician seemed to be hurried. Female technician very gracious and explained the procedures she was doing well. Many of the tests/measurements done by male technician were subsequently redone. Doctor talked very fast (not Baldinger) and seemed to jump around causing me to become very confused. Doctor promised a prescription relating to dry-eye but has not been forthcoming with it. Uncomfortable is my opinion.
