Highly regarded experienced ablation surgeon
Dr. Burkhardt is a world renowned heart arrhythmia surgeon and Electrophysiologist. I was fortunate to have him perform a Afib ablation on me. The results have been amazing. I highly recommend him.

An extraordinary physician
At the strong and caring suggestion of my primary Cardiologist, I traveled over 11 hours to have Dr. Burkhardt perform my PVC ablation. I spoke with Dr. Burkhardt via Face Time where he detailed the procedure and explained the sequence of the electrophysiological surgery. He is an amazing physician. The surgery went just as described and the elimination of my PVCs and my quality of life are extraordinary. His entire staff of nurses, anesthesiologist and team members are phenomenal. St. David’s Hospital and it’s nursing staff are incredible.

Dr. Burkhart performed an ablation on me in November 2021. Despite the complexity of my Afib condition he was able to eliminate all of the triggers causing resulting in the elimination of any Afib arrhythmia. The experience at St. Davids was marvelous. I felt better almost immediately. I had forgotten what it felt like to be normal.

In December 2016 Dr. Burkhardt performed a procedure to correct a cardiac problem known as PVC. After a prescribed 90 day waiting period I was medically re-certified by the FAA. I resumed my career as a pilot at a major airline. I recently retired,at the full retirement age, after a 42 year career as an airline pilot. Thank you Dr. Burkhardt.

Heart ablation at St. David’s in Austin, Tx. A very pleasant experience and I feel so good afterwards. Dr Burkhardt and staff as well as hospital personnel were exceptional and treated me with great regard for any issue I asked about. Also loved the order from the menu approach for meals

I had chronic pvcs/pacs show up all of the sudden in my early mid 20s. I was having about 20k a day along with tachycardia. I tried every medication for over a year and I was miserable due to both the medication and pvcs/pacs themselves. I was recommended by my EP in Dallas to see Dr. Burkhardt and all I can say, he and his team are miracle workers. I am 31 now with a family, which I would not have been able to do without him and his team. Thank you

I underwent a Cardioversion procedure by Dr. Burkhardt at the new Electrophysiology Center in St. David's Hospital Surgery Center in January 2020. This facility is new and quite modern. However, and more importantly, all of the medical staff are of the highest professional competence in their personal care for each patient. Dr. Burkhardt represents and leads his medical teams through their many procedures and patient care actions. I offer a strong and sincere recommendation for Dr. Burkhardt and the entire staff and medical teams working in St. David's Hospital, Texas Cardiac Arrhythmia Center.

This was my second ablation for ventricular tachycardia with Dr. Burkhardt (fourth overall....two prior failures by another "expert"!). What can you say about a physician who is the definition of what all of us aspire to be? Exceptionally knowledgeable, compassionate, caring and technically excellent. To wit: while I was in the cardiac ICU here in Houston, Dr. Burkhardt called me from vacation with his suggestions on my future management and, while still on vacation, arranged for me to be the first case upon his return several weeks later. In addition, from thousands of miles away on vacation, he kept up with my progress; offering advice in a clinically tricky situation. There can be no question but that I owe these last 4 1/2 years to his incredible skill. I have previously reviewed Dr. B, and can only con't to pour on the accolades. Search the literature on VT, and you'll find his name on gobs of research and publications. Grateful he's in Austin; don't want to go to Cleveland.

Returning patient and I am always positive to Dr. Burkhardt's suggestions for treatment during visits. Nurse staff is exceptionally thorough and wait times have never been excessive. I have sent and suggested others to this practice for their possible arrhythmia issues...my story with this problem is a living testimony of the care given toward cure.

I had a terrible experience with an EP in another American city. Through a friend I was introduced to Dr. Burkhardt. My procedure was a bit difficult that most EPs do not even attempt to do. Dr. Burkhardt did a truly fantastique job on my somewhat difficult ablation. Further, I have come about for follow ups several times and he consistently makes time to see me. He is concise, kind, gracious, and direct. He is the very best in my opinion. Truly brilliant EP.
