Wait times ridiculously long
The staff is very friendly and helpful, however, the wait time for this practice is ridiculous. I feel the schedule is way overbooked considering there were several patients in the waiting room at 7:30 am. An appointment for a skin cancer removal took over five hours. The chairs in the lobby are very aesthetically pleasing but EXTREMELY uncomfortable, which wouldn't be a big deal if you didn't have to sit in them for hours.

Dr. Cowan Was Thorough and Professional
I had some abnormal cells removed after a mole was removed from my chest. This is the second time I have been treated by Dr. Cowan. He removed cancer from my ear using the Mohs surgical procedure two years ago. He and his staff were very personable and professional. They explained the procedure thoroughly and I never felt rushed or they weren't listening to my concerns. I was in and out in just over an hour. I was very pleased with both visits for treatment and the kind support I received from his staff. Just a friendly tip for anyone who complains about wait times in any doctor's office............always schedule a first appt. or the earliest appt. available. Doctors fall behind appt. schedules as there are emergencies, simple procedures can become more complex, and other patients are late to appts causing further delays. Do yourself a favor.........schedule appts. early. I highly recommend Dr. Cowan and his staff.

6+ hours wait to get spot removed
The office and the office staff were fantastic. They made sure my dad who was 76 at the time was comfortable and they were very nice. I give an A+ to all the staff and nurses. He went in to have a small spot of skin cancer on forehead removed. It them more than three times and 6 hours to do it. The first cut went fine but then had to wait two hours for the biopsy to see if they got it all. Which they don’t tell you. Had to sit out in the lobby for them call us back. They had to do a second a second cut and again wait for a biopsy. They didn’t get it all with the second cut so after waiting again for the biopsy they had to do a third cut and wait again for the biopsy. This is a horrible way to do things. He way overbooks himself. And I’m not too sure the technology he uses is updated. He just seems to be guessing. I do not recommend this guy.

Little regard for patient's time
I sat for over 1 hour in the waiting room, then they held my test results for two weeks before informing me that I had an issue. I called the lab and confirmed the test result delivery date. I recommend going elsewhere. This office exhibits very little concern for the patient's time.

One of the Best ...
My Father is 97 and has dementia. The Staff and Dr.Cowan have always made sure he is comfortable and treat him with such respect. They're accommodating to his needs which makes my Father even more comfortable. We're having his second surgery with Dr.Cowan this week and I'll be a little less stressed knowing he's in excellent hands. Oh, regarding the wait time, it can be a bit lengthy but as a previous reviewer stated ... with such excellent service and care, the wait is worthwhile

Dr Cowen is a very knowledgeable doctor and has a good bedside manner. HOWEVER, do not expect to be seen on time and if you have surgery do not expect to be kept informed if he's running behind, how late, or ask if you would like to be rescheduled. I do appreciate him taking his time to be thorough and would want the same for myself, but I believe in keeping patients informed and not just saying, it'll be a few more minutes when they know it going to be 2 hrs. I like this dr, but absolutely do not respect his lack of respect for his patients time.

My grandparents have both had surgery with Dr. Cowan just recently. He and his staff were wonderful! The wait was a little long, however, the treatment and care that was given by him and his staff was well worth the wait. My grandparents were happy with their care, and amazed the way their surgical areas look.

Had a visit at Bowling Green Dermatology yesterday. The ladies in the office were very sweet and professional. They took down my concerns right away once I was in the room and the physician addressed these areas first thing. He also did an overall skin exam where he noticed a mole that I hadn't that concerned him. Hopefully that spot will not be cancer, but if it is I feel like I will be in good hands.

Dr Cowan rushed through my exam with no attempt of diligence or courtesy. Terrified of the thought of skin cancer, he treated me as a paycheck, rather than a patient dealing with something life threatening. Would recommend to highly avoid.

Was told he couldn't look at additional moles, as we only made an appointment for a specific mole?!? After waiting 9 months for that next appointment, we needed to adjust the appointment by a day or two due to another conflict. That new appointment? Nine more months. No thank you. Beautiful, over the top office paid for by working the system on appointments.

I have seen Dr Cowan multiple times. Each time he is in a rush, will not listen to my concerns, and halfway performs the treatments he applies. I will not be returning nor would I recommend him.

I would not recommend this doctor or office. My husband I were seen in 2013, the experience was mediocre. I called to make an appointment today and was told that our Tricare insurance would no longer be accepted. Upon retirement, after 20 years of military service, we were told that we could see any provider. If doctor was out of network, we would be responsible for charges not covered by Tricare. I was shocked to learn that Dr. Cowan would no longer accept Tricare period! Way to treat veterans.
