Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Dr Cuellar. He took the time to explain everything to me in a way that ensured my comfort and understanding while maintaining professionalism. Was extremely knowledgeable and caring, would highly recommend.

The Best ObGyn.
Dr. Cuellar delivered all five of my children. After years of getting to know each other, he listened to me, and also advocated for my health and bodily autonomy. All of my children are healthy and I survived four c-sections. I do have a question, two years post partum and am wondering if he is able to contact me.- Alana F.

In the best hands
Dr. Cuellar was my Dr. during my second pregnancy. I wanted to try for a VBAC and he was very supportive. He took excellent care of me throughout my pregnancy and the delivery process. While I didn't get the VBAC I had wanted, I did feel heard and validated through the whole pregnancy and postpartum period. He continues to be my GYN.

Rude, condescending, uncaring, unprofessional, needs to retire. Dr. Cuellar was called during my delivery to help manually extract my placenta after I had complications. He took 45 minutes to get there, and seemed annoyed to be there. He had to manually extract my placenta. My epidural hadn’t worked, so I was in intense pain. He seemed frustrated and said to me, “look, we’re trying to keep you from having to have surgery and get put under, so you have to push.” Until this point, I had not once thought that I would need to be put to sleep or have surgery because of this. I knew there was a possibility of transfusions, but never surgery. That scared me, and I did push and ultimately, with his aggressive scrapping and pulling, it came out. While he was doing this, he made a comment that this was or should be a form of birth control. Either I should have used birth control and not had this baby, or should use it in the future to not deal with this again. That was a lovely thing to hear as I was screaming in pain. He left immediately after, not saying goodbye or anything to me. I had to ask the midwife if the placenta was out. I never saw him again. And hope I never do.

Do not recommend.
Doctor Cuellar WAS my doctor until he allowed myself & my unborn baby to be in a life threatening situation. I told this man for WEEKS I was not okay this being my 4th pregnancy I KNEW something wasn’t right. He dismissed my symptoms just 2 days prior to the delivery of my baby. Dr. Cuellar told me “everything I was experiencing was normal”. I am so glad I didn’t allow him to overpower my health as I knew it wasn’t “normal”. My baby had been measuring 5 weeks ahead since 1/2 way through my pregnancy. Dr. Cuellar stopped monitoring my baby when he needed to be watched the most-FOR NO GOOD REASON.. no excuse as to why he stopped care like this but had I not went in to the hospital when I did my baby would be laying in a grave right now!! My baby had came 7 inches through my uterus and only 20 minutes prior too and he would’ve been dead! Thank God for Dr. Kenneth Jackson. It only took him 5 minutes OR less to determine I was far from okay!!! Dr. Cuellar needs to listen to his patients!

I've had many Dr.'s in the last 20+ years and he's the only one (in a full on medical office) who has sat and listened to me and explained everything t hat needs to happen for me to feel better. Very calm and a wealth of knowledge. If he weren't so far away from me, he'd be my full-time GYN.

Condescending, rude, and all around unprofessional. Claims I was “imagining my symptoms”. Hung up on me when I had to call after hours for antibiotics. My experience was so traumatic that it made it difficult for me to go back to the GYN for years. Would not recommend.

I would never recommend this man to any woman seeking OBGYN services. Instead of simply telling me that a tubal would not be feasible in his office, and that I’d have to go to Mission, I was stuck there, having different forms of birth control “mansplained” to me for over an hour. This occurred even after I explained I am in my mid 30’s and have tried every form of birth control, and that was why I was pursuing a tubal. To boot, when I started getting agitated, he turned to his nurse, and talked about me, in front of me, as if I wasn’t even in the room. It would have been fine if he had just told me to go to Mission and sent me on my merry way. Adding in that I may want to consider gastric bypass, and then being so blatantly rude, was unnecessary and unprofessional. Now I am stuck with a $100 bill, and two hours of my life I can never get back. I will never go back to his practice. The saving grace was his nurse who was so nice and empathic to me after his blatant lack of respect.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cuellar for 26 years. He saw me through my pregnancy and birth of my daughter and now is helping me get through menopause! He is patient and kind and will answer any question I ask him. He takes the time to help me understand all of my options when making a decision about my health. He is professional and knowledgeable. Simply the best! His nurse, Melissa, is wonderful as well!

I could not ask for a more compassionate, empathetic, courteous or professional health care provider. His willingness to sit with me and answer every conceivable question I can come up with, reassures me of his desire to help me make well thought out decisions. If there were a sixth star, I would happily rate Dr. John Cuellar with it. Additionally, I couldn't ask for a better nurse to work along side Dr. Cuellar. Thank you, Melissa, for all you do!

Dr. Cuellar saved my uterus! It's true. I transferred care to his office when my ob/gyn at the time was pushing me to have a hysterectomy based on one fibroid that was 2 cm. One fibroid! I qualified for an endometrial ablation instead which not only removed the fibroid but shortened my cycles from 7 days to 3 days. Dr. Cuellar always takes as much time with his patients as needed. You will feel as if you are his only patient when he is with you. I can highly recommend his excellent care!
