Dr. John Gentry is a quack and Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Behavioral Medicine practice is awful. First visit, I waited over 30 minutes in the small, crowded waiting room. I was prescribed medication, which resulted in a terrible reaction, an ER visit, and permanent scarring. Second visit, I waited almost an hour and a half in the same small, very crowded room. For a 10 minute appt! Gentry was completely disinterested, smug, and condescending. No one at the practice was particularly interested in customer service or patient care.I was charged HUNDREDS of dollars for a total of about 45 face time with the doctor. My time and annual leave were wasted, not to mention physical damage and financial obligations for other incurred costs due to the doctor's negligence. John Gentry and Roper St. Francis Physician Partners Behavioral Medicine aren't worth it.

He Saw Me Once, Got My Full History, Then On The Second Visit Which Was Supposed To Be An Hour Was Only 10 Minutes, Where He Ended Up Dropping Me As A Client And Would NOT Tell me Why And ended the visit without another word and very abruptly. What He Did Say Was Not Very Logical Considering He Didn't Really Know Me That Well Being He Only Saw Me 1 time, He Had Also Started Me On Meds At That First Visit As Well, and had said he would prescribe them to be continued for a few months until someone else could be located and those meds, were NEVER continued and NOT put into my pharmacy. Dr. Gentry SCREWED me In 2 ways, I lost him as a Dr. pretty much as soon as I got him Very regretfully after getting my history and then by him NOT continuing meds he ensured he would prescribe for x amount of months. On the whole, it was the worst experience and Dr. John Gentry is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL. If anyone needs Caring help, I wouldn't direct them to Dr. Gentry at all. They wont get it.

One of the best doctors in his field. He is honest in what he believes is right for your condition. Very knowledgeable on the medicines he thinks you need to be on. Very up front when talking to you.

Disappointing. Felt he was detached from interview. Just increased dosage of medication I am taking. Got impression he was not interested in providing one-on-one therapy. Referred me to psychologist. Check-in person seemed slow and impersonal. Took a long time with someone on the phone before handing me some sign-in forms. Had to wait at least 10 minutes past my appointment time before was called into his office which was unimpressive - I was visible to anyone looking through top-glass pane door. Should not be.

Dr. Gentry explains how and why medications work, how long they may take to work, and cautions about side effects. He thoroughly assessed my history and always listens well to my concerns. He offered me various options for treatment and, after educating me on each of them, allowed me to choose which one to try. He provides me at each visit with personal goals to work toward and shows interest in following up on my progress. He referred me elsewhere when necessary. His staff is very kind too.

Have been seeing Dr. Gentry discontinuously for about 3 years and fairly regularly for the past year and a half. He is phenomenal and I am so thankful for him and his help. Some days are better than others, but I wouldn't be where I am without him.
