Talks over patient and barely did an exam.
Dr. Kartsonis was not very friendly and talked over me. He also never even touched the area he was supposed to be examining. He obviously made his assessment visually without looking closely or touching the area. I did appreciate the fact that he didn’t want to just do a biopsy without trying other options first. But I feel like the whole 6 minutes he was in the exam room was very uncomfortable and wasted time. I have a rare cancer elsewhere and my surgical oncologist was concerned about my history and symptoms in another area and referred me to your office for a biopsy and Dr. Kartsonis basically said he didn’t think it was a concern. How can you tell with that awful examination if you can even call it that since he did no examining?? Just eyeballed it from across the room?????? I understand he does this for a living and has probably been doing it for a long time but I would at least expect to have him exam the area and actually touch the area to make sure.

I have seen Dr. K for years, but its time to move on or for him to retire. I don't know if its paranoia or dementia, but something has changed with him. When I requested to be seen by one of the other Dr's in the office, the office staff told me that Dr. K wouldn't allow it. I have only heard good things about the other Physicians in the office, but I guess Dr K wont allow a patient to choose one of the female Dr's over him. Now looking for recommendations.

Neither my husband nor I have ever experienced any arrogance or rudeness from Dr. Kartsonis! We’ve been his patients for well over five years. He has been especially compassionate in regards to solving extremely problematic skin issues my husband has had for years. It seems that he finally found a solution, and we are extremely grateful for his kindness, respect, and expertise.

I've used Dr. Kartsonis for years. No, he's not charming but he's an excellent dermatologist. He is brisk, so a patient needs to pay close attention and speak up with any questions or information he/she has. Dr. Kartsonis doesn't socialize or wait while you decide what you want to say but he does listen carefully when you speak. (Planning ahead and writing yourself reminder notes is a good idea.)

It has been a few years. I had a melanoma on my chest. He removed it and left a barely visible scar. BUT his bedside manner truly sucks. He is an arrogant and rude.

Melanoma out of my sight on lower back. Surgeon out of town and dr. K. immediately removed from my back; 2 days later removed rest of it and pronounced it eliminated. Saved my life as waiting for surgeon would have been too long. acted quickly and responsibly. Highly recommend Dr. Kartsonis. Full body scan every 6 months, every 3 months does face-head-arms; and any areas of concerns I report. Thourghly examines, professional with good demeanor, easy to talk with about concerns.

Very patronizing and condescending in communications. He is sure to "correct" everything you say, and is overly concerned with getting sued, which is troubling. The doctor routinely forgets things you have told him, and embellishes visit summaries with alternate facts.
