Dr.McElroy looked at the whole picture and was the only doctor who wanted to do anything beyond PT for my chronic pain, he listened very well and explained the problem with amazing efficiency.

After a 2016 spine surgery with another surgeon, I was left in constant pain when walking or rising from a sitting position. Five years later I decided to see Dr McElroy who x-rayed me and showed me where my problem was and he assured me he knew how to fix it. I procrastinated as now I’m in advanced years, but finally decided I needed relief and it was worth the risk. The surgery took four hours and upon recovery, they wanted me to walk assisted to the restroom. The very minute I stood up to walk it was amazing— that pain was gone! It’s amazing relief to this day. Dr McElroy cleaned up the surgical area from the prior surgery and Dr McElroys skills and knowledge helped my body to heal—it’s a wonderful life without pain! I Praise God everyday for this skilled surgeon, Dr McElroy, who really cares and gets results.

I have had a bad back for years but never severe enough to consult a specialist. I grew up in the days when back surgery was scary and the last resort. In January that changed, my back pain was intense and unrelenting. I have been a Patient at Flower Mound Orthopedics for foot and knee. That was the place I chose to go but really worried about back Surgery. Dr. John McElroy explained in detail what the problem was and how he would fix it. I was confident that my back would be healed and it was not as scary as back surgery was years ago. I cannot compliment his staff enough. They are competent, caring and understanding individuals. Dr. McElroy is an outstanding physician. We are so fortunate to have him in our area. Words are not enough to express my gratitude to him and his staff. I recently had a spinal cord stimulator implant and Dr. McElroy and staff members were always courteous, professional and helpful at all visits to the office and the day of surgery. He has an easy going manner and listens, seems to really care.

I had a Laminectomy in October, 2020. I had hip (sciatica) pain for many years not knowing it was from bulging discs. Dr. McElroy got me started on a pain-free hip journey. After a few months of therapy to get my hip muscles back in shape and stretched out, I am now free from the constant pain I used to have.

I really enjoyed my visits. Dr. McElroy was always pleasant and informative. He always made me feel safe.

Dr. McElroy really made me feel listened too. He wasn't quick to suggest surgery, he wanted to make sure it was the best coarse of action for my pain. I am now pain free and am truly grateful for him! I would recommend him to anyone who is tired of dealing with prolong back pain.

Dr. McElroy performed spinal fusion on 5 vertebra and 4 disc a year ago. I had never him, and my visit was quiet urgent because of a severe fall that broke my back, and I'd left another hospital due to the doctor's indifference. Nine months after my surgery, my lower back pain was very infrequent. After almost a year after surgery, I'm doing very well. The previous hospital radiologist had missed a total diagnosis. That hospital reported only a fractured disc, and Dr. McElroy immediately noticed a burst tear of a vertebra. I went to Texas Orthopedic because my husband had previously had shoulder surgery, and his recovery was quiet remarkable. I highly recommend Dr. McElroy and Texas Orthopedic and Spine in Flower Mound, TX.

Dr. McElroy is an outstanding physician and an awesome surgeon. I have struggled with lower back pain and sciatica for many years. I’ve done physical therapy, anti inflammatory drugs, and injections with minimal short term relief. I found Dr. McElroy on Healthgrades and as all the reviews were very positive I decided to see him. From my first visit he made me feel comfortable and took all the time needed to review my MRI and show me in very specific terms what he believed would help me the most. His PA Trey and his nurse Donna were very helpful in helping me prepare for the surgery to relieve the pressure on my nerves due to stenosis. I had the surgery less than two weeks ago at the surgery center right above the offices. Each and every member of the surgery team was caring, efficient and explained every aspect of the surgery to me. The results are amazing. I have been walking every day and sleeping through the night. I highly recommend Dr. McElroy. He’s a great surgeon.

He is a very kind doctor. You feel he cares, his "bedside manners" are impeccable. He is very knowledgeable and takes a conservative approach as far as possible eventhough he is a surgeon. I really like that, it tells me he is thinking of the patient.

I would have left zero stars except he’s a very handsome man. He did absolutely nothing for me. Only exam was X-ray where he said I just had arthritis in my neck. After insisting for an MRI, it was determined I had a herneated disk and pinched nerve. I’m now seeing a spine doctor and getting rehab and an injection .. if this doesn’t relieve pain and tingling, I will have surgery. Would never EVER return to this doctor.

It was a very exciting and unexpected experience with Dr. John C. McElroy. He improved my spine by expanding it and correcting a previous spinal surgery in 2016. I now have feeling in my feet and calves that I haven't had for many years.
