Dr. John Mehalik, MD

I was blessed with having both shoulders replaced by Dr Mehalick! HE & HIS PA, MICHAEL YOUNG, RESTORED MY QUALITY OF LIFE! My experience from beginning to end with the office staff to the Surgical Center was pleasant & well organized!

Dr. Mehalik had given me shots in my shoulder for a year or so. One shot every 3 months, which would help for just a few days. One day he said, 'You've got 3 choices; You can continue to get the shots, which only last a few days. You can just live with it, or we can do shoulder surgery, which I HIGHLY recommend'I opted for the surgery (BIGGEST mistake of my life!!).After the surgery my pain sky rocketed. On a scale of 1 to 10m it was about a 50. After about a year of constant pain, he recommended the reverse procedure, but there was NO WAY I was going to go under HIS knife again.I went to a doctor down in Naples, who was highly recommended by another doctor who I trusted. This doctor Dr Phillip Goldberg performed the reverse procedure, which brought my pain level from 50 down to about 20.It's been a little over a year since the 2nd surgery, but has never gotten back down to what it was before the Mehalic surgery. In my opinion, Dr. Mehalic destroyed my shoulder!

I’m six weeks post op from rotator cuff surgery. Do far my experience with Dr. Mehalik and his staff has been exceptionally and without a doubt, I would refer others to him.

Great outcome via great surgeon. No post-surgery pain meds needed. Chipping and putting after six weeks. 10 rounds of golf within three months.

I have had 2 occasions to receive care from Dr Mehalik. He performed laparoscopic rotator cuff repair in my left shoulder, and I had a terrific outpatient experience with return to normal activity (swimming and golf in 3 months, ice hockey in four months). My second opportunity for care involved evaluation of my right shoulder four years later. His opinion was that I did not need surgery on my right shoulder. Five years later, I am still playing hockey twice weekly at age 62, as well as swimming and playing golf multiple times per week. He is technically excellent, with great medical judgement, and clinical honesty. I would recommend him to anyone in Fort Myers, Fl that is having shoulder issues.

He saw my husband for a shoulder replacement surgery. On our first visit Dr Mehalik spend time explaining everything to us. He talked to us like a friend not a Dr we had just met Super nice guy. His staff is very friendly and extremely helpful Would definitely recommend him

Please Doc remember me! I was your 1st Patient when you came from Mayo Clinic. Work.Comp. tossed me like a football. I took the "SUE" WORD AND USED IT LIKE A BAT. I WAS ALLOWED TO COME TO THE PRACTICE. you gave me confidence- you agreed with my description of everything That hurt. My faith was restored! He performed a rotator cuff tear surgery on mecroughly 10 years ago and I recently returned for evaluation of shoul limita movement. He sat down and explained everything, even asking if I knew what one of the terms meant. I chose him to go back to because I had I great experience with him 10 years ago and just as good this time around.

I've seen Dr.Malik for shoulder surgery and for follow-up care and treatment on the other shoulder. I am always impressed with the care, the skill, and the friendly bedside manner. m
