As a UCLA alum, I found Dr. Moriarty for my boyfriend who had blood clots and had been in intensive care a month at a local OC hospital following knee surgery. After this small hospital almost killed him and he had blood clots twice and doctors there had not resolved anything, I scheduled him to see Dr. Moriarty. You cannot believe how sick this man was. One month in ICU and 40 lb weight loss. Other docs said swelling was normal and blood clots would go away eventually. Wrong. He just got sicker. I remembered my brother in law said to stay out of local hospitals for serious surgeries. Go to RESEARCH hospitals!!!! I found this Dr. at UCLA that is a miracle in itself. We saw Dr Moriarty and It wasn’t a minute too soon. This wonderful doctor saved his life. His state of the art technology, bedside manner, experience and talent cannot be described. He is an angel for sure. There are not enough stars for this doctor. I am forever grateful to this man for saving my boyfriends life. Thank you

Dr Moriarty Is beyond a shadow of a doubt ,an absolutely incredible Doctor ! Not only is he extremely kind ,his knowledge of the vascular system and ability to repair go beyond comprehension! The first time I went to see him as a patient,it was because all the other Doctors said there was nothing that could be done for me except hospice .i would not have quality of life and the sooner I accepted this ,the sooner my fate would meet me ! And then... I finally got approved for second opinion by the insurance company . Dr Moriarty told me he thought he could help me ,Boy was he right !i will never be healthy again, but because of his amazing skill and tenacity ,I get to spend quality time with my family ,ride my motorcycle, and spend what time I have left trying to help folks in need .i have lost count of the stents he has used to keep me moving .but I thank God everyday for everything DrMoriarty has done for us !

Inferior vena cava filter was put into place in 2014. Dr Moriety successfully retrieved it July 2017 with no problem, although being attached to the wall of the vein and in place for 3 years. He has the capability of using a laser or just by the conventional way. He's very concerned about his patients and the type of care given them. Very skillful doctor, love him. would highly recommend him to anyone who wishes to have their Cava Filter removed no matter the reason, mine is a success!!
