Dr. John Ortega, MD

I saw Dr. Ortega forA follow up to an ER visit. I had a broken nose. I am on Medicare now and he said it was all Cosmetic and would not be covered. I went for a second opinion and had surgery within a week and it was covered. Dr. Ortega never did an endoscopy or really looked in my nose. It was so severely broken I had to have two surgeries. Guess he didn’t want to be bothered with what Medicare was going to pay.

get there 10 min early as requested, 1 hour later still waiting, and there was a women ahead of me still waiting, my time is valuable too , got up and left will never return and have doubts about dealing with this health organization ,should have known better when scheduling on line appts were every ten minutes ,thats not even enough time to get your bp

He is the best doctor I have seen. Very thorough, patient, and caring. Always listens and is very eager to help. My whole family sees him.

Dr. Ortega reviewed my problem in a manner I could understand. Very pleasant and thorough.

Sat waiting in a room 45 minutes at 830 in the morning to see my doctor for 5 minutes. This isnt what I would call ideal. Seems to happen every time, no matter what time my appointment is. Dr is a great Doctor, but these wait times are ridiculous.

Dr. Ortega was two hours late, and his bedside manner was abysmal. He did not apologize for being late, and he was dismissive and inattentive. I saw him to address significant nasal breathing difficulty and he didn't even do a proper exam (as is protocol). To examine the nasal passages, ENTs are supposed to use an endoscope (which they have on hand at the office!). He looked up my nostrils with his NAKED EYE and concluded that nothing was wrong/the only thing he could see was a 'slight' septal deviation. He could not have been more wrong (I saw a different ENT months later because I didn't trust Dr. Ortega's judgment, and, after undergoing a nasal endoscopy, found out that not only was my septum severely deviated, but I had other diagnosable nasal issues and required surgery). He's grossly negligent and I would not recommend him to anyone. Absolutely appalling.

Dr. Ortega is very kind and very thorough at my visits. I trust him completely.

Dr. Ortega and his staff make you feel very comfortable. Everything is explained to you so you can understand why he may want to do a certain test. I would definitely recommend him to friend’s and family.

This man schedules a patient every 10 minutes, and it is reflected in the care he provides. He was over an hour late, and didn't listen to what I had to say. He kept referring to my "bilateral" tinnitus even though I reiterated several times that only my left ear was affected. He cleaned my ears and then proclaimed to have cured my "bilateral" tinnitus even though I told him the left ear tinnitus had resolved several days prior to my visit. The icing on the cake was when he posted all of this inaccurate information into my chart notes. When I messaged him to indicate this error, he never responded to me. I also felt sorry for his harried staff. They were very kind and he is lucky to have such patient people working for him.

On time and no real waiting.

I believe I have already responded about having to wait 20-30 minutes for a 7:50 am visit. Dr. Ortega is a fabulous doctor so I will put up with these waits. My feeling is the clinic tries to book too many appointments per hour.

Dr. Ortega totally understood my concerns and addressed the issue. Was very happy with the appointment and the outcome.

Against my better judgement, I kept returning to Dr. Ortega for my ear problems. He was arrogant and the wait times were ridiculous. He did not care about my symptoms a procedure that was unnecessary which only caused more problems. His answer…”I don’t know what it is”. I will never return to this doctor.

My last visit I had to wait about an hour after my appointment time. This is a busy location but Dr. Ortega is great and has good bedside manner. I visit a few times a year for cleanings and will continue to come.

He went straight to my problems and gave a medication to fix it

I had a medicine issue and called the office on a Monday morning. As of Wednesday afternoon, and after several calls, I have not received a call back. The receptionists were not helpful at all and one was downright rude. I will be talking with the doctor about these issues.

I had an 8:30 appointment, I was put in the room at 8:40. The doctor did not come in until 9:15. During this time no one came back in. I know he sometimes slips people in if they call because he has done it for me, but this is a long time to wait. They expect you to be on time.
