Dr. John Ownby, MD

Had a very close friend experiencing a life threatening crisis in the intensive care unit. I was very distraught. Dr. Ownby was very compassionate and explained things to me and my friend's family in ways that we understood. We were not easy to deal with because of our distress but he understood and responded appropriately. I hope we never need his services again but if we do need a neurologist I hope he is around to oversee our treatment and care.

Met Ownby in ICU for my mother. No bedside manners, no respect for the family going through a lot. Does not want to repeat himself unless you call him out on his attitude. Goes through patients as if they are products and not humans with emotions. He needs to understand that emotional tensions are high when people are going through a lot with their family members. He needs to be the bigger person and assistance to a horrible problem otherwise you wouldn't be at the hospital. As a patient you already pay an outrageous amount of money and doctors like this doesn't deserve it. Not only did he have bad bedside manners, he could not or did not try to find the correct medication to relieve the pain for my mother. She was only relaxed after a week of excruciating pain and screaming until she got the correct doctor and treatment from the oncology floor. She did not deserve this and you should be ashamed of yourself. To Ownby: You need to put things in perspective of your own family members
