Brain surgery
I was referred to Dr. Prall by my insurance company. I couldn't have asked for a better physician and surgeon. He answered all my questions and took as much time as I needed to understand the procedure and recovery. I highly recommend him.

Had spinal fusion (L3-L4) surgery done Jan. 2021. Everything seemed OK, until I had about 2 mo. of PT. After making progress, suddenly I wasn't. A follow-up x-ray showed one support rod had totally fallen out of place, and was impinging on nerves and causing a lot of numbness/pain. Had to have ANOTHER surgery done (by a different neurosurgeon) in Oct. 2021 to correct this. 2nd doctor also confirmed that the OTHER rod/set screws were also loose! 2nd doctor also said he found no abnormalities/defects with any of the removed hardware that could be a cause for their failure. Pretty much all of 2021 was lost due to pain and inability to normally walk and move.

Dr Prall did my spine surgery and I had serious side effects. I was unable to swallow food and liquids. I called repeatedly for help because it turned into excruciating panic attacks, which I’ve never experienced. For the past 3 months I have been searching for answers at various ent specialists (esophagus, ear, reflux). Sad thing is at my post op I asked to please see him but he never came in. I said I wasn’t suing or anything just needed to understand what went wrong. But his PA Mark Hugo scurried me out. The esophagus specialist said I needed to ask dr prall for scans. After asking repeatedly mark Hugo agreed to 2 X-rays. Fast forward to today I’m very sick. Went to my pcp who did throat culture and I have a rare bug no one seems to be familiar with that only comes from surgery equipment and is resistant to most antibiotics. I again called dr prall and explained in full what happened, asking him to call. Still waiting. I may need hardware removed. Used to be extremely healthy

It's TRUE. He rufuses to evaluate his patients. The VA sent me to Dr. Prall. I saw his assistant who CLEARLY misdiagnosed me. I was sched'ld for an MRI & nerve blocks but when the MRI showed a "vascular" issue I requested to see the Doc first but I was told he would not see me until after the nerve blocks were done. I told them the new findings could indicate that I don't need nerve blocks. I was told he looked saw the MRI and didn't see anything, so I would have to have the blocks first if I wanted an appt with him. I sent my images to an out-of-state University Neurovascular Surgeon eho schedl'd me for surgery 2 weeks later. I have still never met Dr Prall. Turns out I had Type I & II neuralgia. Type I was remedied by surgery. It cost me thousands. If he had met with me, gone over the MRI & my actual symptoms, maybe he could have done the surgery. He trusted his assistant to eval. & diagnose. When SHE got it WRONG no one would listen and the cover up began. I wonder if he knows?

Dr. Prall did an amazing evaluation and treatment for my trigeminal neuralgia. There are no surgeons in my town who treat for this. My neurologist sent me to Dallas twice with no luck. My neurologist told me he could not help me anymore. I was devastated. I found Dr. Prall online. He was very thorough in explaining to us the treatment and what to expect. I have been 4 months pain and medication free. First time in 10 years. This is not a permanent fix but the treatment is wonderful if it has to be done again.

Several years ago Dr. Prall operated on a family member for brain cancer. Post-operation she was unable to speak and could barely think it seemed. Her quality of life was horrible from that point until her death 4 months later. He performed a very aggressive surgery and our discussion about the how aggressive he should be was initiated by him about 20 minutes before the surgery, which completely caught us off guard, and there was no discussion of the resulting severe handicapping of her abilities (though it may have been in the fine print on the forms we signed). Later during follow up scans we learned he had removed a substantial portion of her brain, and other doctors looking at her scans questioned whether surgery was appropriate in the first place. My great regret in this life is that we followed Dr. Prall's advice to have surgery, and that we worked with him at all. I am convinced her quality of life would have been much much better without surgery.

Removal of synovial cyst at L4-L5. Two previous aspirations of the cyst were unsuccessful. Dr. Prall surgically removed the cyst and fused L4-L5 vertebrae together. My outcome at 12 weeks is outstanding. I am not qualified to review Dr. Pralls skill in the O.R. other than to say after Four years I am pain free. Dr. Prall´s surgical staff: Jamie and Chris spent so much time with me and my wife answering every question we could think of. Office staff helpful with planning xrays, MRI, CTs.

Dr Prall is incredible@what he does.Let me just start w/ his&his PA’s bedside manners..they actually have one, lol. No offense to specialists, but not easy to find many who r warm &personal in addtn 2 being top notch surgeons. They are both very thorough, patient &don’t make u feel hurried. My dad was told by another Dr he needed a 4 level fusion. Dr P performed a much less invasive procedure called a microdiscectomy. My father now has zero pain&much easier recovery! My husband is now his pt as well!

Dr. Prall did a tremendous job with my back surgery! He spent a great deal of time explaining my options, making sure I understood all the various treatment strategies and that I was comfortable with my decision. His staff was friendly and very responsive and handled all the logistics and post-op paperwork quite efficiently. At every post-operative visit Dr. Prall took a lot of time to make sure my questions were answered. Great experience overall and I would strongly recommend Dr. Prall to

As you search for Neurosurgeons in the Denver area, Dr. Prall comes highly rated for good reason. I had severe cervical stenosis so I set a consultation to meet him. Dr. Prall was patient and educated me well as to my condition and options. Once the surgery was scheduled I felt at ease and confident with my decision to proceed. He has a wonderful bedside manner and explained what my recovery expectations would be. My outcome couldn't have been better. I have also referred him to friends.

Dr Prall is absolutely the best surgeon! I've had two back surgeries with him since 2004 - my most recent two months ago. He has helped me tremendously! I would recommend him to anyone having any kind of pain. The staff at Littleton Hospital raved about him both times I had surgery. He listens to your concerns and recommends the best solution. He is amazing!!

I was unable stop the surgery that, Dr. Prall felt necessary to perform on my 80 year old Mother. I live in another State, by the time I knew what was happening with my, already weak Mother, I was informed that Dr. Prall had performed the surgery. My Mother passed away 45 days after this surgery. Not because of Dr. Prall's surgery, because of her illness that was not stroke related. I feel, without the surgery, there may have been a more quality to her last days than what we had.

I have used Dr. Prall and his staff twice, both with remarkable results. The first time was 12 years ago with an L5-S1 fusion. I was in horrific pain, and frequently spent days in bed prior to the surgery. My pain was completely gone after the first surgery. My second surgery was this September - L4-L5-S1 with the same results following excruciating sciatica due to a degenerative disc. Expect 8 weeks in a back brace, and excellent results. Walking builds your core, and improves recovery!
