John Schumann was intolerant and offensive. While he claimed other reasons for my inability, he was wrong. The hip bone I endured was like a sponge; I eventually broke the foot on my other leg In order to support myself. I was in surgery within a month to repair my hip, by another surgeon who did an excellent job. He said he was able to push his finger through the bone it was so bad. I guess Schurman was wrong, huh? I don’t recommend Schurman for even veterinary care.

Dr Schurman performed both my knee and hip replacement surgeries. He did an excellent job; was thorough, professional yet personal and meticulous with his procedures and his followup. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants the very best.

Did my right hip replacement in 2000. 15 years later it is still 85% to the good. That means with plastics used back then for insert it had to have perfect placement. Average hip replacement life back in 2000 was 10-12 years!! He had done over 5000 hips in 2000! Had left hip replaced in 2015. By then he had done 12000 plus!! Can't say enough good things about this Doctor! He is the Hip God as far as I'm concerned!!

I would never recommend Dr. Schurman to anyone.....he did a hip replacement on me and left me with that leg 3/4 inch longer than it was. After surgery, I was in ICU for 10 days and rehab two weeks and Dr. Schurman didn't even realize that or at least I never saw him in all that time. I guess, for him, when surgery is over, it's over. It's been a year now and I am still having quite a bit of pain in that hip and my lower back. I have scoliosis and this leg difference is causing quite a problem

I just had my 2nd knee replacement done by Dr. Schurman in December, 2015. There is no other orthopedic surgeon that I would ever consider going to. The first one I had done in 2007. Dr. Schurman is easy to talk to, answered all my questions, is thorough, and has compassionate bed-side manners. He doesn't sugar-coat, but lets you know exactly what he will do during the surgery and provided post-op guidance. His PA, Tom, is awesome and so is his nurse, Laurie. I'd never go anywhere else!
