Dr. John Scovell, MD

I had a knee injury and went to the Carrell Clinic website to schedule an appointment. I'd bee there twice before for other needs and have been satisfied.I noted Dr. Scovell was a knee specialist and selected him because I had worked with members of his family ... even though it was going to be a three-week wait to get in.I made the appointment anyway. Two business days before the appointment, still dealing with my knee injury, his nurse has to do the dirty work to call me and say he will not be in the office on my appointment date.The NEXT dates available are two weeks in the future.Treating patients like this says that the doctor believes he is more important. Dude fumbled the ball. Who needs that?I will be going elsewhere for patient-focused care.

Dr. Scovell and staff are the BEST, He has treated me with respect and given top notch care. I have had two knee injuries and he is not quick to operate unless absolutely necessary. Recently I did have surgical repair of a fractured patella and my care has been excellent. He explains the procedure thoroughly and you are well informed of all your options. All of your questions are answered in a simple manner so you can make a decision based on the information.

Dr. Scovell was very straightforward about how the surgery could go (both positive and negative). I saw him on March 10th and had surgery two weeks later. His office staff is beyond amazing. I really cannot say enough good things about this doctor and his practice.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with a physician. Dr. Scovell has been very patient oriented. You see him and not a PA for your appointments. He listens and cares. He values your time and doesn't make you wait forever for your appointment. He is conservative in his approach. There is not a rush to surgery until other alternatives have been tried. I had a rotator cuff repair done surgically and he did a fantastic job. I highly recommend him.

Great doctor!!. Took the time to explain in layman’s terms the results of my MRI. Gave me options for treatment. No long wait was a plus as well.

I have seen Dr. Scovell on three separate occasions regarding minor issues with my lower leg, shoulder, and elbow. I have total confidence in his diagnoses and appreciate the fact that he provides options for dealing with my condition. I always leave his office thinking I am really glad I decided to schedule an appointment with him

Dr. Scovell was my "second opinion" because I wasn't convinced the first doctor I saw was really capable of solving my knee problem. Dr. Scovell is very resourceful, thorough, and good at explaining. He did my knee repair surgery 6 weeks ago, but also did a PRP/BMAC procedure, which other surgeons don't necessarily offer. (You can google PRP/BMAC. You'll want this option with your surgery.) I never had much pain after surgery, and am progressing really well with PT. The knee pain I'd had for years is gone. I'm very happy to have my mobility back! I highly recommend Dr. Scovell.

Dr. Scovell was very honest and explained everything very thoroughly. I was very satisfied with the quality of care that I received.

My son had to have surgery to repair a torn ACL after a football injury. We chose to have Dr. Scovell perform the surgery rather than someone in Ft. Worth. He did an outstanding job and my son is well on the way to total recovery. The staff in his office is top notch as well. I highly recommend him.

Very personable and professional. Dr. Scovell always takes the time to listen and understand the issues at hand. He gives sound advice for immediate and future prognosis which is extremely helpful in knowing what to expect if your issue does not improve. I recommend him and his staff highly. Very responsive!

My most recent doctor visit with Dr. Scovell assured me that I had made the right decision to seek treatment under his care. He and his staff were very professional in resolving an unexpected issue that was not in my control . In addition to that, Dr. Scovell was attentive and thorough in caring for my joint pain!.
