I had been interviewing reconstructive surgeons for some time before coming across Dr. Self’s name. From my very first consultation with him and his head nurse, I could tell I was in capable hands. They were professional, attentive, and thorough, asking the right questions and setting realistic expectations for my reconstruction process.Over the course of a year and a half, as I returned for follow-ups and further care, they consistently exceeded my expectations. Dr. Self and his team weren’t just superb in their surgical expertise—they also listened to my concerns, answered my questions patiently, and struck the perfect balance of professionalism and approachability.I would recommend them and HAVE!

7/19/21 My wife went through a tummy tuck and breast reduction with Dr Self about 3 years ago. The Surgery was suppose to last 5-6 hours but ended going late into the night. Breast Reduction went reasonably well. The tummy tuck and skin removal was a nightmare. Healing was not progressing and she ended up with internal infections, one of which was staff. She had 3 additional surgeries to try clean up poor healing and infections. In process found numerous stitches that needed removal. 2 of these surgeries were in his office. Recovery lasted nearly a year through all this including being on antibiotics for that period which had implications of its own. Recently (This week), she ended up in the ER with another sub dermal abscess just behind/under the scarring from the original surgery where the abscess has a portal that runs to the skin surface which is the very likely source of the infection and the result of the lack of complete healing from the original surgery. Cannot recommend

Dr. Self is simply the BEST! His bedside manner is amazing, his assistant, Lynn, is fantastic, and the outcome speaks for itself! I had a repair to fix a botched breast augmentation, and his work truly is PERFECTION! His pre-op care was beyond thorough, and every aspect of what would take place during my surgery was explained in great detail. His post-op care is even better, if that's possible. The follow-up care and concern was above and beyond what I have experienced by a medical doctor, and I would highly recommend his services to anyone looking for an amazing plastic surgeon. Beyond happy with my results!!!!!!!!!

My 70-year-old mother- in-law had several surgeries from him. Think extreme makeover granny edition. I question his judgement (and hers) to do such a thing. Five days later, and she can still barely remain conscious or upright. My wife is taking care of her around the clock. Trip to the emergency room. After a long night in the emergency room, his office calls the next day for them to hurry over for a check up at 07:30 P.M. They get there on time....And wait....And wait....And wait...One hour an

Went to Dr.Self and was more than impressed by his friendliness and respectful manner. He is a true southern gentlemen. He did an amazing job, and i couldn't recommend him more...

Dr. Self is The BEST Plastic Surgeon!!! As an RN, you hear the behind the scenes views on doctors, and you listen. I've only heard remarkable comments about Dr. Self. And now that he is my doctor, I have nothing but positive comments , to pass out about him. Dr. Self is a remarkable surgeon, and truly cares about his patients, I have experienced both first hand.

My wife had a double mastectomy with Dr Self because of breast cancer. The nurses told me he was known as the Michelangelo regarding surgery and I understand why. Her surgery lasted 12 hours and the results were phenome I've been to is office on many occasions and he was extremely friendly and seems to be extremely confident in what he does. My wife has passed away since the surgery but I would definitely go back to his office for any further needs. He is a very kind and has great bedside manner
