Second Opinion paid off
I was referred by my primary care doctor to see Dr. Smith for a questionable diagnosis last summer by another doctor of bone on bone advanced arthritic knees that necessitated knee replacements. My x-rays weren't shown to me. My knees were pain free and I was in a serious dilemma as to what to do. My visit with Dr. Smith and seeing my x-rays of hips and knees showed normal joints with cartlidge in tact. No sign of any bone on bone knees. He recommended floor exercises to strengthen my back, legs and core. At 81, I feel great physically and emotionally. Thank goodness for Dr. Smith for his knowledge, diagnosis and caring and compassionate manner. He truly cared about me and eased my mind. He did so much for me and I highly recommend him. He's the best!

Dr. John Q. Smith met with us on June 17 and recommended a neuro test from an outside provider. After two weeks of not hearing from anyone, I called West Idaho Orthopedics back and left a voicemail. No one ever called me back. One week later, I called a doctor at St. Luke's Orthopedics and got him in immediately, a correct diagnosis was made, and surgery was scheduled. Then I got the bill and I spoke to the billing department on July 13 to share my experience. She explained that they didn't have an office manager and apologized for the poor service and would call me back regarding a discount on the bill. I.never.heard.back. Today I received bill #2 and called to inquire about a discount since they didn't follow through on their word for the third time. I explained that I'm happy to pay for some of Dr. Smith's time but I don't think it should be the full amount because of numerous failures within their system. The billing person hung up on me while I was still speaking.

This doctor seemed nice during my appointment, outlining the best way to accurately diagnosis my pain. However, instead of following through and getting an MRI, he agreed to the insurance company's decision for more physical therapy knowing I had done PT before. His staff was nasty, he never returned phone calls and his contact with my insurance company almost blocked the MRI which did show the cause of my pain; This doctor never sought an accurate diagnosis. He does not care.

I have been in a lot of pain since I had a knee replacement done 4 yrs ago by a different Dr. Dr Smith diagnosed my problem as a worn out hip causing pain elsewhere in my leg. We did a total hip replacement 3 weeks ago and I have had very little pain since.

Dr Smith was very helpful in deciding the best solution for constant knee pain. we started with a shot, then an MRI discovered a torn meniscus, so we decided to operate. everything went smoothly and I was impressed at the speed of recovery. less than a week to get back to nearly 100%. I highly recommend Dr Smith and his staff for your orthopedic needs.

Dr. Smith was not only very professional and knowledgable but very kind and patient. He always took all the time I needed to answer my questions. I never felt that I was rushed through his office. His staff is also very kind and courteous. I would choose Dr. Smith again if I had to have orthopedic work done.

Dr. Smith was recommended by a friend who had both knees done last fall. I had a prior knee done 5 years ago by Dr. Schneider and was satisfied so wanted to stay with the same practice and decided to go with Dr. Smith. We found Dr. Smith to be very easy to talk to and answered all our question. The recovery had gone much better than anticipated. Today is two weeks. I am off the walker and cane (unless on uneven ground). Have had home PT and will start out-patient PT next week.
