I have been seeing Dr. Stephens for about 5 years. He and his staff are very professional, friendly, and efficient. I have always been treated with the utmost respect. Last week, however, everything changed. I was taken back and asked how I had been. I explained that I had recently been laid off due to outsourcing. She then asked me if my insurance had changed and I told her I now qualified for Medicaid. She left the room and when she came back said that Dr. Stephens was refusing to see me. I offered to pay cash but that was rejected too and I was being asked to leave. I made it to my car before I burst into tears. I was humiliated, ashamed, and just a little angry. I don’t blame Dr. Stephens or his staff. I blame our broken American healthcare system. Still, it hurts. It hurts a lot. I’m trying to adjust to my new reality as a second class citizen. Still, I can highly recommend Dr. Stephens and his staff. They’ll take very good care of you (as long as your insurance holds out).

I thought I had found a great dermatologist, but then I needed an appointment quickly and Dr. Stephens was available. I switched to him immediately. I get an annual skin cancer screening, and he is incredibly thorough and explains things well. This year, he was late - because I could hear him next door, working hard to calm a young patient who needed multiple spots biopsied. He's great.

I am an anxious patient and I have been a Registered Nurse for 30 years. I accidentally found Dr. Stephens and without a doubt he is the best physician I have ever been too. He never appears to act like he is in a hurry. He is kind and takes time to explain what the situation is. There is not one negative thing I can say about Dr Stephens. I wish I could go to him as a regular physician. EXCELLENT

After five minutes he diagnosed what another dermatologist I had seen 5 times in the last five months couldn't. They did not take time to listen or even look good at my conditions, Dr Stephens, asked the questions and did a scraping of my rash because he took the time to listen. I have been itching for 6 months with scabies! Would like to sue my old Dr for pain and suffering! Hopefully in two weeks I will feel normal again! Cannot say enough good things about him!
