Sent me HOME in DKA!
Nice guy but I had been projectile vomiting for 5 days straight, secondary to a bad reaction to one dose of Ozempic! I am also a brittle diabetic! 2 bags of IV fluids and 2 different Antiemetics IV and was STILL puking! But because my blood sugar, FINALLY, came down?(AFTER 10 injections OF insulin that day at home) He sent me packing! When I SHOULD have BEEN ADMITTED! Mind you, I HAVE great insurance! I came back two days later and was, FINALLY, admitted by a DIFFERENT physician! To ICU no less. And EVERY single person I encountered was astounded and shocked that this guy sent me home two days prior! EVERY nurse and doc that saw me!! I NEVER should've been sent home that first ER visit! DKA (Diabetic Ketoacidosis) IS an incredibly dangerous illness that CAN turn on a dime, INTO multi system organ failure AND brain swelling!. THAT happens? You ARE done for! But, thankfully, I was a nurse! BUT what if I'd just been a layperson? And DIDN'T know? Anyone ELSE would have DIED at home!
What went well
  • Staff friendliness
What could be improved
  • Didn't listen or answer questions
  • Didn't explain conditions well
  • Appointment was rushed
  • Didn't trust the provider's decisions
  • Long wait times
