Very disappointed
Have been a patient of Dr. Sutton for a few years. He is very knowledgeable, however, his odd practice of how he reviews bloodwork by form letter causes problems. He does not take medicare advantage so I was told I would need to find another doctor. When I asked him to renew my prescription he refused since I did not have a further appointment. Greedy! There is a reason he has a 2.8 review score, so look elsewhere if you can.

I found Dr. Sutton to be pompous and condescending. He was very fixated on adhering to his particular ( and odd)office practices. He was not efficient in reviewing lab work. He would generally refuse to discuss my lab results with me, using a form letter instead, in between appointments. The office itself is chock full of dust collecting kitschy decorations. I would not recommend Dr. Sutton .

If i could give less then one star, I would. Horrible experience. Didn’t even make it in to see the dr. Ended up walking out. When we arrived to the office, the window was closed. Our appt was at 12:30. When the receptionist finally opened the window, 15 mins later, she told us our appt was at 10:30. I showed her the paper she had sent us, stating the appt was at 12:30. She then said she didn’t know what she could do, even though she accepted responsibility for writing the wrong time. She went back to speak with someone else. Came back and said she would “squeeze us in”. As we waited, Another patient was at the window and the receptionist was real rude with he and his wife. The patient remained calm, then got upset. As we watched this go on, I told her we would find someone else. This wasn’t the place for us. While this was all going on, the dr walked through the waiting room. He did not stop to see what was going on, or to make things right. So unprofessional.

Although a very knowledgeable endocrinologist his office is built on money. As I called in desperation asking for him to renew my prescription the office refuses as I explained I couldn’t afford an appointment and my insulin prescription at the same time. I now have three days worth of insulin and am having to scatter around calling whoever I can to try and fix this problem. There are many articles online of this same situation and then dying shortly after.

Dr. Sutton is very knowledgeable and thorough. I have seen him for a year now for a severely hypothyroid condition. Each visit he spends more time asking questions than really any other Dr. I have seen previously. The office staff has been patient and kind as well.

Got a call confirming my upcoming appointment. Day of appointment, I called the office to get this recording, "Thank you for calling Carson Tahoe Endocrinology. In observance of President's day, the office is closed and will re-open on Tuesday February 21st." Great, no appointment. Called Tuesday to reschedule and was informed that in order to have an appointment, I had to pay $50 for missing my appointment that I missed because they were closed. Finding a new doctor.

I was treated so well at this office. From the front desk, to the nurse, and by Dr. Sutton himself. He took the time with me and answered all my questions. I was amazed at some of the comments that was made by others. Don't let a few cause you to not trust this doctor. He is very caring and does take the time to get to know his patient and their history. I would highly recommend Dr. Sutton to family and friends.

I am going to find another doctor. Since they make the appointments 1 year in advance, I finally messed up on my calendar. Had a job I had to be at during my appointment. Got home late the night before and got my reminder message. I called first thing in the morning to let them know I can't make it. So a $50 charge for not keeping my appointment. After all these years, so phooey!!!! I will go somewhere else.
