Excellent work!
I had 2 shoulder surgeries with Dr Toth, one in 2022 and one in 2023. Both times he and his staff were awesome from pre-op to follow up. Here I am today with 2 repaired shoulders and zero pain or complications. Could not recommend more.

Do your homework before he does surgery on you
I saw Dr toth for shoulder surgery and my shoulder is worse and I have less mobility than I did before surgery. His office refused to see me one day because I was unable to pay the co-payment so for $30 they refused to take care of me during post-surgery. Anybody considering letting this man operate on them needs to do a lot of homework. I need surgery on my other shoulder and I definitely will not be going back to this doctor..

Try a different orthopedist
I felt the doctor rushed me, documentation was inaccurate, scheduling made multiple mistakes, MA Raven inappropriate and inaccurate with her responses.

No time, energy or empathy for the patient
I saw Dr. Toth after an injury to my shoulder. He spent 3 minutes with me; prescribed an Xray. Based on that, he diagnosed an impingement; prescribed PT. On my return visit at 6 weeks, I told him what movements were impossible. He prescribed an MRI. I asked about surgery and he commented (exact words I can't recall) but the gist was that I was too old. I wanted to slam him against because he hadn't taken any other part of my life into the equation! Had the MRI; expected to hear from him re: the results. 4 days later and nothing, I went to my Banner account and learned that I have 2 serious tears in my rotator cuff. Yup, frightening, but even worse when your shoulder Doc doesn't let you know personally! Anyway, after research, no thanks to Dr. Toth, I decided against surgery and plan to strengthen other muscles to compensate for the tears. This will be something that I'll do for the rest of my life. Thank you Matthew Weber at Banner PT for supporting me! I will reign!

Bad experience with surgery and follow up
Had clavicle surgery with a plate and screws installed. At discharge was told to leave the bandage on, it started to come loose in three days; called and they stated to tape it. After a week it was crusty from discharge at the staples and was becoming infected, called and was advised the same as before. A couple of days prior to my follow up appointment I called again and they stated it should have been replaced when it first started to come off. Surgery area was angry and infected at follow appointment, due to swelling the had issued removing the staples; no cleaning or follow up suggestions given. Surgery details: prior to surgery there was pain at the break location only. The surgery was performed 9 months ago; I know have no feeling in my chest, upper back, cheap, and neck and still having pains at the surgery sight. Currently looking for a follow up DR, as Toth does not seem interested in addressing the concerns or issues that where created by the surgery.

I've met a million doctors over the years but I honestly don't think I've ever met a Dr., let alone a highly esteemed surgeon, more friendly, relatable or charismatic than Dr. Toth. He listened, explained the next steps clearly and was so nice and down to earth it almost felt like chatting with an old friend. That's hard to find, particularly with specialists as they are so highly trained in their fields I think they forget at times we're all humans. His MA and the radiology tech were fantastic as well

He is a spectacular doctor, with a compassionate attitude. From the very first visit, I thought that he was a down to earth type of guy I would have as a friend. To top it off he's one of the best surgeons in AZ.

Great Office Visit - Very Satisfied - Great Bedside Manner I am not one to write reviews but I felt I needed to after my visit with Dr. Toth. He walked into the office and greeted me with a smile. He reviewed my x-ray with me and explained what he saw. I kept thinking to myself that the negative reviews I read prior to my visit were completely opposite of what I was experiencing. He was very professional, kind, and took the time to answer my questions. He definitely seemed to care about my shoulder! He had his PA give me a shot for pain and suggested physical therapy before any possible aggressive approaches. I'm scheduled for PT and will definitely follow up with Dr. Toth if needed.... I would definitely recommend him for your orthopedic needs. I also found the entire office to be very nice too! Thank you Dr. Toth Monty S.

I had Rotator Cuff surgery & labrum repaired June 2018. Dr Toth's bedside manner on 1st visit was not so great. Seemed in a hurry, barely looked at me in short 2 minutes he was in the rm. After research, I choose him to be my surgeon based on how good I heard he is. Day of surgery he was joking & made me feel comfortable. At 2 post-op appts he was attentive & answered all questions. Almost done with PT, a MUST do. I highly recommend Dr John Toth of Gilbert. Healing is coming along nicely

I was going to be late for l my appt, so I called the clinic to see if I could still see the doc. I was told to come on in. I arrived within the 15 min slot. I was taken to the exam room, I then waited for the doc for 1.5 hours. When the doc came in we showed our displeasure in having to wait so long. His attitude was "because you were late, I'm behind". Really, an 1.5 ?? The visit went down hill from there. We walked out without results. Dr Toth is rude, pompous, & self-important! Go elsewhere!

I had shoulder surgery with Dr. Toth twice for 2 separate injuries to my shoulder. He came highly recommended by another well respected orthopedic surgeon since that surgeon was retiring. My last surgery was 2012 and have been pain free since. Dr. Toth and his staff have been kind, attentive and amazing. I would definitely recommend Dr. Toth for an orthopedic surgeon for shoulders.

Dr. Toth , Jenna, his nurse and his front office staff were very polite, professional , very fast and efficient. I fell very hard and injured my shoulder last week. MRI showed that I had a rotator cuff tear. I explained to the scheduler , that I was in a lot of pain and needed to see the doctor ASAP for further treatment. The scheduler was "Awesome" she express her sympathy for me , was able to schedule me with the doctor within 3 days post my MRI. Thank you for the "5" star treatment,

This is a follow-up to a review I wrote on Dec 1 about the front office and their phone system. After that I was able to speak without someone who was very apologetic and committed to fixing the problems. He said mine was not the only such complaint and he was working on solutions. We have had no further interactions with the office, so I will let others draw their own conclusions and hope that the situation is now better.

Dr Toth spends time seeing you before surgery to answer questions and concerns. After surgery he doesn't follow up with patients who placed their trust in him. Even upon request the Dr would not see me. My issues have resulted in a complete failure of my total knee replacement. I am now facing Revision Surgery. Too many negative issues for me to explain.
