Dr. John Treves, MD

He is very knowledgeable and really listened to me and my concerns. He knows what to do to make his patient comfortable and is a wonderful Neurosurgeon. I have had so many issues with my back with a large fusion. He has always been there to help me. My husband has seen him after a diagnosis and he took great concern and knew just what to do.

Here I am again, after having surgery, by Dr. Trevas 6 years ago. I started having problems again with back, thigh and foot, with extreme pain. I was alittle fearful of having surgery again and called Dr. Trevas about it. At that time he advised me to try back injections at a pain center. Since that time had many spinal injections which usually helped for short periods of time. I sincerely believe. That Dr. Trevas is a tremendous surgeon and will honestly do what is best for you. AFter having much pain during the summer, he had me get an MRI and found tremendous changes. Surgery was done and he and Dave were both very compassionate! I would also like to say that all the staff at the MidWest Surgical Hospital were very compassionate with me and my family member.

Dr. John Treves is one of the best neurosurgeons in the country. Some years ago I had some serious back pain and losing my ability to walk at all. I worked with an orthopedic surgeon who told me that I was not a candidate for surgery but for a number of years he gave me injections in the spine. Those injections ultimately failed to work at all and I was left with serious nerve damage in my right leg. I switched from orthopedic surgeons to neurosurgeons. I chose one in Omaha that graduated very high in her medical school class. But two years after the surgery I still had the ever worsening pain. She kept telling in me that nerves take a long time to heal. I finally saw Dr. Treves and after reviewing my MRI's he informed me that my back was basic broken between the L-5 and S1, nowhere near where the first surgeon operated. After his surgery I had no more pain. That was 10 years ago and I'm still pain free. Without Dr. Treves' help I would be confined to a wheel chair today.

I have a degenerative disc in my back. I'm young and Dr. Treves helped me make the best decision for me after years of struggling with other doctors and medicines. I will be forever thankful for finding this doctor. I am now able to do all the things I have wanted to do for years! He's hard to get into because he's the best!!!!!

Dr. Treves is one of the most compassionate physicians that I have ever met. He explains everything fully in terms that you can understand, and he is never hurried and always has time for questions. I cannot say enough good about him, I feel fortunate to be a patient of his.

Dr. Treves performed extensive surgery on my back in June 2016. Prior to the surgery he took the time to thoroughly explain all facets of the surgery and recovery in laymans terms. He is compassionate, patient comfort oriented and has a great bedside manner. During follow-up appts he explained xray results, the progression of my recovery and answered my questions all while never appearing rushed. If you are facing back surgery and have not met with Dr. Treves DO IT!! You will be glad you did.

Dr. Trevas is very compassionate, explains things so you understand what needs done. He spends time with you and doesn't act hurried. Even called me at home to explain options.
