John has been our daughter's pediatric oncologist since 2012. He was the first provider we found that truly listened to our concerns and crafted a care plan to fit for our family. We are very confident and thankful to have him leading our care team.

When our son Samuel was diagnosed with stage 4 Ewings sarcoma we were given Dr. Van Doorninck's (and RMPHO) name. We are so lucky he was recommended! Even though Samuel was given a 30% chance of beating his cancer, Dr. van Doorninck said from the beginning we WERE going to beat it. Samuel just had his 3 year post treatment scans and is still cancer free! While we understand that the treatment Samuel rec'd was what rid him of cancer, having that understanding, compassionate touch that Dr. van Doorninck and the staff of RMPHO has was a HUGE reason for Samuel's success. We couldn't be happier with his outcome and are grateful that Dr. van Doorninck was there with us every step of the way.

Dr. Van Doorninck has given my daughter incredible care. He never makes you feel like he is rushing to his next patient. He not only makes sure that I understand everything going on, but takes the time to talk directly to my daughter to make sure she doesn’t have any questions or concerns. His level of care is phenomenal. We wouldn’t consider changing doctors for a moment!

We had a scare with our almost 1 year old and thought he had a tumor. Dr. van Doorninck and our Nephrologist worked together immediately and got us a referral in 24 hrs and an appointment in exactly 1 week. We had testing and results in the same day and had a wonderful office visit. He's a wonderful Dr. He eased our fears and we left knowing our baby is in the hands of the best medical team we could ask for. I won't take my baby anywhere else. He is above and beyond. Remarkable physician.
