My husband wasn't listening to during aftercare which lead to him having quada equana syndrome. Leaving him numb from the belly button to his knees.

Definitely Superman
When I went for the initial consultation, Dr. Wahlig came in from a surgery and met with me. We had already seen Sonia (PA), but both of them took time to talk and explain the surgery procedure. I later talked to a retired Physical therapist who knew Dr. Wahlig and she told me she called him 'Superman'. After a great surgical experience, I have to agree. Detail oriented, professional, and kind.

I saw Dr. Wahlig in his office with a PA present. He referred to me in the third person, despite the fact that I was in the room. He set conditions that he expected in order to do surgery. As my pain level increased, he changed the conditions for the surgery, making them unattainable for me for months. He did say through his nurse, that he would consider doing the surgery if I lost the use of my legs. So now, after nearly six months of debilitating pain, I now must find another surgeon….given the shortage, this will take another several months. Perhaps Dr. wahlig has forgotten his oath to do no harm.

Highly empathetic surgeon who takes his time to understand your unique situation. Almost immediate response when reaching out to nursing staff. His PA, Allison, is extremely knowledgeable and kind. Dr Wahlig has taken over my case from an out of state misdiagnosed emergency that resulted in out of state surgeries. He has skillfully tried to help me manage and cope with an unimaginable situation. I would strongly recommend anyone with any sort of neurosurgical or spine issue consult Dr Wahlig prior to allowing anyone to do any type of surgery or procedure.

No. Office staff was pleasant. I drove over an hr to see him. Came up with a surgical plan. Had a final MRI and he didn’t show for the appt. met with a PA whi knew nothing about my history and had to start all over again. Sent for another test to confirm which of 3 areas are most likely the surgical target. Had to wait another month for the test. 2 weeks after the test, heard nothing and followed up with the office. He had a nurse call me and tell me he couldn’t help me with a surgical solution and try PT. I had 3 orthopedic Drs tell me I needed surgery and he couldn’t be bothered to discuss options or why his opinion changed. Months of PT, spinal injections and Acupuncture. Another example of the medical profession thinking that their time is more valuable then our lives. I would not recommend him to anyone.

I had spinal surgery in February of 2016 and I have only praise for the successful surgery and excellent care provided by Dr. Wahlig, and his team. I spent one night in the hospital and was cared for by wonderful nurses who administered to my every need! I have had no reoccurring pain and live an active life at 75 years of age, for which I am so thankful! I highly recommend this procedure!

Underwent surgery in 2018 to correct a restricted nerve. All went well and felt better for a couple of months. It started to come back with a vengeance. New MRI shows scar tissue "not enough to go back in". I can only stand for 10 minutes before the pain starts. 30 minutes and my body is shaking from the pain. His office stopped returning phone calls.

I have seen Dr. Wahlig periodically over 3 years. He has consistently taken the time to consider my symptoms, review test results, and present diagnoses and options. When we finally got to surgery time he was again thorough and explained the procedure in detail. He is patient with questions and good at follow up.
