Dr. John Welshofer, MD

Dr. Welshofer is extremely knowledgeable and very direct, provided his opinion on doctors in the area and the treatment options available at this time. He recognized that I was long overdue for further testing to provide a better understanding of what is happening. With that being said, he needs to work on his soft skills. For example, he never asked me about my full medical history and relied on the notes of a doctor who took a pre-existing condition and made it ten times worse and who portrayed me in his notes in a poor light. My tears of frustration were quickly dismissed as well. His 'tell it like it is' persona is nice but he could have wrapped the fist up in a velvet glove first.

He spent time listening, studied all previous exams and X-rays, He made a diagnosis and referred me to a specialist who does therapy for my problem. Great visit!

Dr. Welshofer listens to you and is pro active in finding best solutions. I highly recommend him. Everyone in practice is friendly.

When I first saw Dr. Welshofer, I had been doing physical therapy for three months for pain and neuralgia in my legs and feet. The therapy was helping reduce those symptoms in most situations, but I was still experiencing debilitating effects on some occasions. First of all, Dr. Welshofer's demeanor put me at ease. His attitude was very positive and friendly, qualities I appreciated. He reviewed my MRI scan with me, showing me the conditions that were causing my symptoms. He assured me that the problems were fixable. Finally, we discussed treatment options beyond PT and decided upon a plan. I left the meeting feeling much better about my future than I felt when I walked in.

Dr Welshofer listens and offers a plan of action. I trust him with my spine!

Dr Welshofer is kind, has great bedside manner, and is excellent at explaining your condition and best choices for care. I especially appreciated that when he came into the room he already had thoroughly reviewed my records and wasn’t looking at them for the first time as he was talking to me about them. Would definitely recommend if you have back trouble and are trying to avoid surgery.

The doctor was very knowledgeable in my spine details I’m really set my mind at ease that he knew all the specifics and gave me great advice and just talk to me all about the process and what all would experience. He also made a call to get me in for a Cortizone shot the very next day to help with the pain I was experiencing.

Dr Welshofer has cared for my degenerative low back for years and is always doing everything possible to help relieve my pain and increase my function and quality of life. He takes his time to listen to your symptoms and to order the best diagnostic tests to deliver the most accurate treatment. He is the only doctor I trust with my spine!

From the minute that I first entered the office I was made to feel welcome . The initial exam was really complete; including spinal X-rays and a review of my previous hist. This gave Dr. Welshofer a great understanding of my condition. He fully explained his initial observations, scheduled me for another test procedure and set up a meeting to develop a complete treatment plan to fit my problem. I’m looking forward to the next step with great confidence that my recurring back pain problem will be treated correctly.

Dr. Welshofer reviewed my past procedures before my visit; asked questions & gave me a proposed plan which met insurance and my needs. He also has a test scheduled which will give us further direction. I appreciate his not taking the prognosis of years ago as being forever.

I saw Dr. Welshofer in 2012 for back pain, which he addressed so competently and comprehensively that I didn't have any problems until 12 years later. I recently saw Dr. Welshofer again for the same issue and, once again, he's addressing the issue competently and comprehensively. He's managing my expectations and we have a course of action. I can't recommend him enough. Given the awful state of medicine in the US today, it's rare to find someone as dedicated and accomplished as Dr. Welshofer. I couldn't recommend him more.
