Dr. John Wittman, MD

Dr. Wittman has been my neurologist for quite a few years. I find him to be very patient and kind. He’s a great listener and down-to-earth. He also seems to care about my condition and symptoms I am experiencing. When needed, he refers me out to other providers. He always asks me if all my questions have been answered before the appointment has ended. He replies timely to messages I sent through the portal. Also, his nurse is really wonderful too. I highly recommend him to others who have epilepsy.

He seemed capable, asked questions and took notes. The only communication I had with him was via the patient portal. I saw him in November 2023, but was not able to make another appointment until 2024. I assume this makes him a good doctor? I did not stay with the practice because I moved out of state. If I continued to live in Virginia, I would’ve found another doctor/practice.

Saw for yrs, hate chg. docs, loc. close, don’t need to see often so dealt w/his dry, non-interactive, somewhat arrogant manner. Not my fav. doc, only needed for sleep studies to get supplies & no scripts needed. Then 2021, he decided I was late (wasn’t and haven’t been before; was a check-in/exam prep issues, no big deal), his words “15 min late; wasn’t ready when he was”, decided to be passive-aggressive, let me sit for hours til end of day; he didn’t have the courtesy to advise issue, nor offer to make another appt, can you wait, etc —nothing. Had later appt re: recent aortic valve repl.surg. wound issue-needless to say it was late. Asked staff twice, didn’t have reason for lengthy sch. delay. He wasn’t even going to say anything when he came in, but I was like wait a minute why have I been left sitting for hours. He decided to “teach” a 67 yr old woman a lesson for being erroneously late. Survey done, office mgr called, very nice. Won’t see him again due to this & other issues.

Update on previous review where I went to him for insomnia & he wouldn’t do any testing because older people don’t sleep well. Had a sleep study & I have Sleep Apnea. Working with a sleep specialist & sleep physiologist. Finally getting this under control after 15 years. Shame on Dr. Whitman for not ordering a sleep study or referring me to someone else.

I have been going to Dr. Wittman for a long time and have been very happy with his professionalism. He has always made sure that my medications were up to date and correct. That is one thing I find very important in any doctor.

Great doctor

Great doctor, would recommend him to anyone! He listens to what you say, and works with you on your health care.

On 22 April we had Appointment wevwear happy to see all precaution you office has taken to protect staff and peasant.we are very happy with Dr Wittman n our opinion he is ne of best in town it been more then 4 years we see him. I am a patient of Dr. Wittman's. I find he is a great listener, answers all the questions asked, is very knowledgeable and comes prepared for the appointment. His nurse, Sarah, is very sweet and helpful. Also, I have gotten a quick turn-around time on phone messages and prescription refills. I would refer any friends and family who needed a neurologist to Dr. Wittman.

I liked Dr.Wittman instantly, he took his time listening to me during my first visit with him and made sure to answer each and every question I had, some doctors come in the exam room and go as quick as they can to go to the next patient but not Dr.Whittman he took his time, that’s what we need all doctor’s to do, to see us as a human being and not a paycheck.

My appt with Dr. Whitman when very well. He is very professional. He let me ask all the questions I had and provided a very thorough exam. I appreciate him taking them time with me!

I left the state so probably won’t need to, be if I was still there I definitely would.

Bedside manners were good from beginning to the end

Pleasant exam. Questions were answered. Proactive on providing upgrades on CPAP, which happened in a few days.

I had a wonderful visit. Everyone was pleasant and welcoming. The doctor was patient and showed concern for my problem.

I cannot begin to express my satisfaction with the staff at Neurological Associates. From the front desk, to the nurses and the doctor. Each and everyone of them were courteous, professional and made my visit very comfortable. I would definitely recommend Dr. Wittman if anyone is in need of a neurologist.
